  • Monday Roll Call 12/22/08

    Good Morning all!!! Completed first week of induction. Lost 5.2lbs. I wasn't able to exercise even one day this week. Bad week had a death in the family so very busy. But I avoided all the carb heavy food that family dropped off. Still have a kitchen full of it but I'm not going near it. Hope you all have a great low car Monday!

    Hi Dave & fellow CCers! I hope everyone had a smooth weekend. Today is also the beginning of my 2nd week into induction. I'm down 7 pounds! Woo hoo! I fluctuated a bit in between though. I know it was due to those high sodium hot dogs (I needed something in a rush) and lack of water. I'm currently trying to up my water intake, so hopefully I get that situated soon. Other than that, the weight loss is still going great and I'm able to fight off any cravings for carbs.

      Dave-Sorry to hear about the death in the family though.
      40 year old male 6' 3"

      What I know:
      1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
      2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
      3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
      4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

          Congratulations on your weight losses Dave and Chynna, you're both doing fabulous!!!

          Dave, I'm terribly sorry to hear about the loss you've experienced in your family, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. You have done very well staying away from the carb food people have been bringing over, well done.

          I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable low carb day today.

            Good afternoon everyone! Busy, busy here ~ I'm sure everyone is .

            Dave, my condolences to you and your family. It's always sad to lose a loved one, but it's a bit harder when it's around the holidays.

            Congrats to Dave and Chynna on you weightloss!

            Today is day number 12 for me. I've lost 12 pounds so far which I'm happy with. I've exercised about 5 days a week and try to do anything extra to burn calories ~ taking the stairs, helping my husband shovel, walk further, etc. Also, I haven't had any sweeteners since I've started. Boy do I miss gum after a meal with garlic!

            I'm going to start OWL rung I on Christmas day so I'll make sure to get in my extra veggies. Otherwise it'll be Ham, green beans, deviled eggs. I keep telling myself "it's just food" when I emotionally (not physically) want something not on my current phase of Atkins (legal or not). It's sooooo true. My mother-in-law said once (I love this woman!) I can remember what X, Y or Z tastes like and if I eat again as soon as I swallow it will just be a memory. What benefit will I get if I eat something I shouldn't? None.
