  • Coming Back

HI everyone! It's been a long time.

Well, I fell off the Atkins WOL, sadly. I had alot going on and suffered some depression and all though it is NO excuse whatsoever, I fell off. I am so mad at myself for letting it happen. I have gained back almost all that I have lost. So its starting completely over for me.

I have picked 1/11/09 as my new start date so that I can get my shopping done and be prepared. This is not only something I want to do it is something I have to do. I was at my doctor last week and my blood sugar is up. They ran some test because of other symptoms I am having and we are waiting on the results. The doctor feels I am either now diabetic or even possibly have something called cushings syndrom. I need and want to be healthy again! I want to implement a buddy system for myself this time so I have someone to talk to incase I come to a "runt in the road" again and so that I am prepared.

Anyways, looking forward to joining you all again! I missed this WOL and the way I felt on it. Cant wait to get my energy back!

          Thank you everyone!
Sarina you are doing an awesome job!!
I cant wait to get back to this WOL, wish I had the cupboards stocked for it now and cleaned out of all the nono foods. Should have seen hubbys face when I told him no more soda in the house so I dont have the temptation. He drinks Pepsi One, but I just dont want the temptation there, ya know?

              Re: Coming Back

              Hi Clara,

At one point I lost about 60 pounds about 3 years ago on Atkins. Then I had 2 more babies and this past Summer I miscarried for the first time so depression really sunk in. I thought about losing weight in the fall but I just could NOT face the holidays with restrictions. I was NOT ready.

Sadly, on New Years I weighed in at my heaviest I have ever been. I am so ashamed at myself as well for even letting myself get this heavy. I was 321 on NY. I started Atkins on Monday weighing in at 317.7 and today I am 311 ao already in a week I have lost 10 pounds.

I aim for mini goals. During this induction I want to get down to 290. I only have 20lbs to go now, and induction usually works really well for me so I am not worried about it. It's the mini goals after that that I will struggle with. I just personally want to be back below 300. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would let myself go so much that I would reach over 300, let alone 321!!

I am amazed at Sarian's weight loss already. What an inspiration it is!

I need to get healthier as my whole body system is out of whack. We want to have another baby but the doctor said it'll take at least 3 months of medication to just get back to normal so I have to do this for myself as well as my children and hopefully future child(ren).

PM or IM me whenever. I need buddies too. I'm already craving the sweets and especially the carbs like chips and bread (ugh). I tried the oopsie bread out tonight and it wasn't too bad.

              Good Luck to you too!

                Re: Coming Back

Thanks Sling. I know the feeling of never thinking you would let yourself go so far as to be over 300! I used to say the same thing. Always used the excuse "I carry my weight well and no one can tell how heavy I REALLY am" as a cruch to not change my ways and think I was doing fine. Well, look where I am now ><

Today is day 1. For breakfast I had a nice refreshing bottle of ice cold water, 2 sausgae patties, 2 eggs fried in a Tbsp. of bacon grease, and 2 ounces of cheese melted on. Stacked it up to build 2 breadless, eat with a fork sandwiches. It was yummie! Now to plan my lunch and dinner for work tonight as I didnt do it yesterday becasue I was sick the last 2 days!

                  Re: Coming Back

Welcome back. I have on my second time with Atkins. I was very successful the first, I, like so many others, returned to my bad habits. I am doing well the second time and have a different maturity with the diet. I have lost 30 and have 40 to go so I am almost half way. Good luck = you can do it!

                    Re: Coming Back

I just have to remind myself that I am the only one who puts limitations upon myself and the weight came on slowly and can come off slowly.

I know I was desperate enough to start looking into gastric bypass surgery, something I always thought was a cop out. I'd say that I know it was my fault and that I am the one who had to change rather than take the "easy" way out with surgery. But then I got to the point where I thought it would be easier than to actually "diet". Between watching TBL and the surgery graphics I decided I wanted to be healthier rather than a give up loser (in my mind for myself). I had to send the right message to my kids.

I know there will be ups and downs and I know I can lose the weight on Atkins but I also know I have to be disciplined and change my thinking, attitude, and lifestyle. i think Ia m doing that this time because I am exploring different ways to cook compared to the other times I've tried Atkins. Before I just resorted to eggs, tuna, and salad. This time I've expanded to a wider variety of things so I think I'll have a better chance on it. I'm understanding more too on how this all works.

I'm halfway to my first mini goal which should be reached in at least 2 weeks I think.
