Morning! I'm at the start of day three. Struggled a bit last night w/ cravings, then made a fake rice and tuna casserole for supper that got me through. Looking forward to getting the first week behind me - that's usually when the cravings and habitual patterns fade away for me.
Good morning CC'ers, Day 2 of starting Induction........again. As you know, it is important to take with you the correct tools for the job at task. Atkins has no exceptions. Tools as in using fitday.com, taking supplements as in L-Glutamine for cravings and the scale & tape measure to show your progress, to name just a few. What are your favorite tools that you are using to help you in your Atkins Journey? Wishing all of you a fantastic Low Carb day. Sherri

Atkins start weight – 347 (July 19, 2008 )
(100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day ) Current weight – 251 lbs.
Goal weight - 150 – 160
Day 4 for me too, and I seem to be on a pattern of losing 3 lbs a day. I'm excited because I could very well be out of the 300's before the start of next week, which would make me extremely happy. I know this won't keep up though too.
I am concerned though because soon I am supposed to be put on meds for my endocrin system. I think I'll wait until after the true induction is over with.
Last night I was able to have some guacamole with my husband by using cucumber slices instead of tortilla chips. I also made some oopsie bread last night which I am excited to try for lunch. Dinner I am making some chicken salad and eating it on a bed of lettuce.
I personally LOVE water so I don't miss the soda all that much. It's the OJ I crave sometimes. Weird.

GOOD GRIEF! Sarina, I just read your stats.. OMG. 87 pounds in 7 months, and another 49 pounds since October? I am in awe.
And Sherri... I re-started induction yesterday too. I'm actually proud of myself for only gaining 4 pounds back over the holidays. Been up & down between my lowest 252 and 259 since Halloween. I must have changed my metabolism enough that the goodies that I did have didn't affect me as much as I think they would have in the past. I wasn't perfect by any means, but I didn't gain everything back either. So I weigh in at 256.2 this morning, with TOM on the horizon. Relieved to be back to it, without distraction.
So I don't feel like a failure for not being "clean" throughout the holidays, although I certainly bombed the New Year's challenge. BUT I remained active and did fit various kinds of movement into my life. I still feel very optimistic. I haven't given up, and who knows, if Sarina can lose 49 pounds in 3 months, maybe I can still make my goal of reaching 200 by May 1. I've got 5 months to do it. Then on to the final goal, of 160.
Tools? Bell peppers, porkrinds, elliptical trainer, music and water. And yeah, Fitday, a food scale, and a body scale. I wish I had measured when I started. I think I'll try the L-glutamine this round.
Yay for everyone! Hello to the folks who have joined since I last checked in.

It's great to see you, thank you for your kind words!!! It's really good to hear an update on how you're doing, I miss seeing your posts!
Here's a little break down of my weight loss so far regarding a time frame of events:
April 1st of 2008 up until I began Atkins on July 19, 2008 I lost 40 lbs. on my own....plus the 13 lbs. I some how managed to kept off from the following year when I was 400 lbs....actually I think I was 403 to be more accurate but I round it off to 400....so for a total up until I began Atkins July 19-08 I had lost 53 lbs.
From July 19-08 (since I've been on Atkins) till today's day, I lost a total total of 96 lbs on Atkins alone....then add the 53 lbs I lost just prior to starting Atkins is a total of 149 lbs as of this morning.
It's been quite a journey, I have learned a great deal about myself and a new way to deal with things. For me it wasn't just about being overweight because of what I was eating...it was also due to how I dealt with issues in life as well as in the moment. I am truly grateful for this 2nd chance and I look forward to the future!
I wish you all the best on Induction....I know you'll do great, it's so good to see you again!

Thanks for the welcome back, Sarina. I just can't believe how the pounds are burning off of you. It must feel really good. Yeah, I'll do fine on re-induction. Glad to do it. Feel better already. Part of my motivation now, is a decision to return to school and take up a career in the medical field, so by fall, I'd like to not look like a hippo in scrubs, lol. Ah for the good ol' days when nursies wore nifty little white dresses. Time for water... later.
