Wow! Look at all the newbies Hi all

Sherri, I think I'm addicted to Fitday. I know from past experience that when I don't log my food, things become toooo casual, if you know what I mean.

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

I'm back now that I have a little more time...

How wonderful to see so many CCers today! Welcome back to some of you! Congrats to the losers (that's a good word here)! Good luck to all of you!

      My tools are...
      Planning
FitDay (just within the last week...time-consuming, but worth it)
      Exercise (cardio and lifting)
      Water
      Sleep
      Food scale (INVALUABLE!!!!!!!)
Bathroom scale (although sometimes it's my enemy because it rules my mood! ~ mine's not digital, I think I might buy a digital one)

      Enjoy the day !

Thank you Kellen! Congratulations on going back to school and into nursing, that's fabulous! When are you planning on starting school?

Thank you Mimi Fairgood, you're a sweetheart!

Sherri, sorry...I forgot to answer your question in my last post.

I personally keep a food and exercise log each day which also includes my daily weight. I'm not to detail oriented with the food measurements because I don't weigh my food, I just eye ball ingredients and it's worked out great for me. I keep a food journal because I have a habit of not eating through the day like I should and then getting hungry at night and cramming. This (food journal) of course helped me a lot when I first started eating this way as my doctor has me eating 6 or so small meals a day so it helps me to see if I've been eating consistantly as he has advised instead of eating 3 large meals.

It's going very well, thank you for asking Sarina. I was reading in my food journals that I keep here at home. As you know I have kept a food diary for nearly 5 years now.
I can see where my WOE took a turn. I was 228lbs. on July 4th just coming off of a 142 day sweetner fast,(nearly 5 months). I had icecream on 4th of July and chips too. I pretty much stayed on plan after my slip untill the holidays hit....then it sprialed out of control through the holidays. I took back control December 26th @261 pounds. On 01-07-09. I went back to Induction weighing in @ 255.5.
I had gained 33 lbs. in six months. I know i can lose that faster than I put it on. Still........NO EXCUSE! I tried to ease back down the rungs to take back the control. Then realized that I lacked discipline and the only way for me to regain that back is to go back to Induction. That was difficult for me, for I hadn't been on Induction for over 4 years. So far, so good.
I'm being reminded of how important it is to evolve my woe around my schedule...nobody elses. I now eat breaky at 8 a.m. without DH, he eats breakfast when I eat my lunch at 11:30-12 N. So that's working out great for me. I got into a terrible routine of skipping lunch because of DH's schedule. No more of that!
Everyone in my house is on board with Atkins. Although I allow DD and DH to eat off of all the rungs(except rung 5). This is really effective for our household. They evolve around my woe, not the other way around. DH told me last night that he and Sierra are in Sherri Orbit, evolving around my woe It's all coming together again!
One message that I want to send to everyone here.....Keep a personal food diary at home. Include your weight and measurements each month including your daily menu plan. Write down EVERYTHING you eat everyday. Record your weight each time you weigh and write whats on your mind.
It has been proven that people who keep a food diary are more successful at losing weight and keeping it off than those that don't. It certainly has been the case for me. It's a wonderful reference of YOUR PERSONAL JOURNEY!

Hi everyone! I'm just checking in at the end of my day.

Everything is going great here! I went for a 10km walk today with my husband today. It was a great "workout"! Hopefully we can do another walk tomorrow since I won't be able to hit the gym due to my baby daughter's physical appointment in the morning. I hope the sun is out and shining like it was today!

              Happy low carbing!

                Hi Sherri,

I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you. You're an amazing lady and a true inspiration to all of us here. Keep up the great work and before you know it you'll be exactly where you want to be...you have an incredible amount of strength!

I couldn't agree with you more regarding the diary. I am not a diary type person at all and started mine due to my doctor's request...he wanted to see how I was eating after instructing me to eat numerous small meals a day...so I started one. After he was able to refer to it and didn't need to take a look at it anymore, I continued on with it because I found it to be a really useful tool amoung the way on my weight loss journey.

I think it's fabulous that your DH and Sierra are both in "Sherri land orbit!".....what a terrific support and a help as not to have to worry about prepping/cooking meals that are different from the way you need to eat!

Keep doing everything you're doing Sherri, you're doing great. I think of you each day and think of what a great success you are...you have accomplished so much.

Thank you for sharing what you have gone through and what you're doing now.

Wishing everyone a Great carb free day.
Mimi, congratulations on your 8 lb loss....that's fabulous news!!!!

Keep it up, you're doing terrific!!!! As far as the sweet craving go....try L-glutimine. You can find it explained on pg. 136 part way down in DANDR book. Sherri also told me about it a while ago in reference to a conversation I was having with someone. I have not required it myself so I can't give you a testimonial for it but from what Sherri has mentioned and a number of people here as well as the book it seems to work quite well for that. Also, snack/meal on high fat items...that's what I did when I was feeling like I needed something to eat.....that was my thing...just wanting something to eat at the beginning...I didn't crave anything sweet however, from what I have read from others...they did the same thing. I remember reading Chick saying she kept a big bowl of chicken wings around to get through those time. So try something like deviled eggs, chicken salad with mayo, chicken wings..etc....everything I ate (and I still do this) I drizzle olive oil on top and eat it. For me it really worked.

                  Hope this helps!!!
