    Happy Spring all!

    Mine got off to a crappy start. Last night I was coming home from meeting a friend at a bar for a little while (people feel so mortified/embarrassed at a bar when I tell them I don't drink anymore...but I was never a big drinker to begin with?). Anyways, on the way home, as I was getting on the interstate some jackhole came speeding up behind me as I was getting out of the on/off lane, swerved around me and cut me off, hitting the front of my car with the back of his truck...and he KEPT GOING. Him hitting me caused me to hit another car. Luckily nobody was hurt and there was little real damage to either my car or the woman who I hit, but I am just so angry that someone would do that!

    The good news is the scale finally started moving again, and in the right direction! Ever since the end of the initial 2 week induction when I lost 12.2 lbs I've been slowly gaining weight back which had me so bummed, even though as I've mentioned I lost inches and I've read constantly about those post induction slowdowns and such. I expected to gain a little weight back, maybe 1 or 2 lbs, but I actually ended up gaining almost 7 lbs back! It was so demoralizing. Today isn't technically my weigh in day...I do those on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, but I wanted to check this morning. My weight had gone back up to as high as 303.6 (I started at 308.4), but this morning I was an even 300.0! I know it is just a number, but the difference between 3XX and 2XX is extraordinary in my mind, and I'm sure most, if not all of you can relate to those barriers we build in our mind.

    Anyways, that is my spiel for the day. Spring break is almost here...just need to make it through one...more...week...after today. Happy low carbing everyone

    Checking in for today - hi everybody.

    Ryan - glad no-one was hurt, and not too much damage to your car. Pamper yourself tonight with a great meal (oops I forgot - us Atkineers do that all the time!)

    Good news on the scale movement! I know those 'Post Induction Stall Syndrome' feelings myself, but it looks like you've turned the tide in the right direction by persevering.

    A quick question - can anyone start the roll call for the Century Club - some days I come on the board and no-one has started one yet, but I wasn't sure if I could do so or not.

      Feel free to start the roll if nobody has already! I don't know of any rules, and if there are some I've absolutely broken them by starting role some mornings

        Glad the weight is coming back down! I weigh more than once a day. Every morning before coffee is the one I count. I have a thing about being under 160 now because I was stuck at about 170 for six months. I went off the diet and added eight more pounds before getting back on track. But I am so close to 160 anything can make me weigh more than that right now. Poo, water, coffee, food, time of day. lol I think I'm back in ketosis after all my cheating. I ran out of strips and ex said to buy some more meat instead of worrying about them.



        My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

        1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
        2nd mini goal: 140!
        3rd mini goal:135!
        4th mini goal: 130!

        I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

          Ryan - sorry to hear about your accident! Just remember that jerk probably has a really crummy life apart from being a bad driver.

          Tonight my husband and I are going out to eat with family for my brother-in-law's birthday. It's going to be at this delicious carb-y restaurant with like 50 beers on tap, but I'm going to be sooo good and get a steak and veg with water (maybe a squeeze of lemon? who knows, i'm living on the edge).

            Good morning everyone. Happy Spring...looks like I'll be seeing showers all day, bummer.

            Ryan*~ so glad no one was hurt. I developed a bad phobia of being in a car cuz of crazy drivers! I take the city bus everywhere now. I am also happy that you are seeing the numbers go back down on your scale.

            CP*~ I believe I saw Sherri post one day that if you don't see a morning roll call, start one right up

            Rita*~ I was weighing myself after every opportunity too, lol. I finally just put my scale away after my friday weigh in and try not to think about it all week (very hard).

            Oh and also speaking of friday...it's my weigh in day. I have lost 3.4 lbs this past week bringing my total 5 week weight loss to 24.4 pounds

              Good morning!

              Sorry to hear about your night Ryan... some people are so... yeah. It's frustrating that someone wouldn't even stop after that. Hopefully the rest of Spring goes better for you. Congrats on seeing the results on the scale again!

              Rita - I hear you about the scale. I have a certain time of day that I consider my "real" weight. I ran out of strips too... but so far I've just been going on without them.

              Pagliaccia... love the "living on the edge" comment... I met a friend for dinner last night. As my friend was downing his fourth beer, I was downing my second water (with lemon)...

                Hi everyone! I'm finally able to visit the forum again now that my youngest daughter is feeling better again.

                I stuck to the plan, but I guess with all the stress lately, I'm unable to lose any weight. I hope that will change soon! I just have an MRI to get done next week and then hopefully no more stress!

                    I am sorry about your car Ryan. That stinks!
                    I am so glad it is Friday! My to-do list seems to grow longer and longer, but I am getting a few items marked off, so I am focusing on those. I am on day 12 of Induction and I have lost 7 lbs. I was hoping for a bigger loss, but it feels good to be under 250lbs after all of the years over it. I have very little appetite, so that is great! This weekend, my family and I are going to my favorite restaurant to celebrate a birthday -Bonefish. This will be difficult for me to navigate, because what I usually order is shrimp and scallops coated in bread crumbs and mashed potatos. My husband also gets this, so I will have to look at it while he eats. Even so, I am determined to reach my goals, I am deciding ahead of time not to cheat. I am thinking about getting a broiled fish or a steak and veggies or a salad. I am sure whatever I order will be good.
                    I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be back tomorrow, (if not before!).
