Just signing in, not much to report other than the fact I am holding steady and staying on plan.
Agreed CP, it's a lovely day here in London as well - can't hear the birdsong though as I work in a very busy area.

I've got some challenges coming up
We're gonna be in a HUGE money squeeze for the next two months, hey it happens to us all from time to time .. so I've got to cut back everwhere
well this time stuff like hamburger helper or spaghetti isnt gonna cut it .. and I can't eat most of the meat to myself ..
any low cost low carb ideas .. looks like eggs and chicken are in my very near future

I eat a lot of hamburger meat. I can season it with adobo and put it on salad for taco salad. I eat a lot of broccoli and cheese. Actually I put it in a throw away bowl frozen, nuke it for 3 mins then throw a slice of kraft cheese on it and nuke for 30 sec. Chicken is better covered in hot sauce after awhile! But cut into strips and pan fried in Italian salad dressing with a dash of soy, chicken is real good. Okay, I warned people atkins on a budget is more boring. I love italian spice on chicken. I'm a simple cook. Walmart usually has a cheese on sale. People not on Atkins can have a cup of ramin and a hotdog here and there.
I'm nervous about trying to stay at this weight. But today someone came up to me and told me I was at the right weight NOW. I may decide to loose some more, but I want to see what I can eat to stay this size.

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.
1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
2nd mini goal: 140!
3rd mini goal:135!
4th mini goal: 130!
I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

Check local grocers for sales on Boston butts, beef shoulder roasts and steaks, pork picnics, london broil. The shoulder roast can be cut into steaks made into stirfry (don't eat the rice), you can flavor the stirfry with Mexican spices for variety. Roasts are good if you can make them last. Learn to like chuck, and skin and bone on your chicken breast, legquarters. Harvey's is a local one that has sales on pork chops. Well not the actual pork chops but similar enough. Sometime they do Wednesday only sales for some things. You may go more than one place to get deals. If you have freezer space, buy extra on what you like. It won't be on sale two weeks in a row often. Good luck and happy hunting.

checkin' in. Mostly behaving....except that I bought some low carb chocolate that keeps calling my name. I think I need to go sweet free for a while. Sweet treats tend to be a waste of carbs that vould be spent on something nuutritious....

Ipedregon, I'm sorry to hear you're going to be going through a tight time over the next little while....I hope that changes for you much sooner. I agree with Rita, hamburger is a great thing to cook up.
Also cans of tuna are a fast and inexpensive item...sometimes one can find canned salmon on sale as well at a great price....you can doctor them with Helmans mayo, boiled eggs and spice the mixture accordingly using onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, dill and a chopped up dill pickle. You can eat it straight or wrap it up in a romaine leaf of use it as a salad topper.
Try to purchase chicken pieces in bulk when they are on sale and freeze them up....sometimes you can find them at great price points when they're on sale.

2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
Current weight – 213 lbs.
Goal weight - 150 – 160
