    Ok, I had to get blood work done yesterday because of my gout and to check my kidneys for my BP medicine. I have only been doing Atkins 10 weeks now and know Dr Atkins recommended it to be after 6 months. But I was able to compair it to my last blood work done way back in June of 2007 and I know I had been eating sooooo unhealthy from then until I started Atkins in Feb 2009. So I am really glad with the results I am seeing. I have to have blood work again in 12 weeks and I'm looking foward to those results.

    Nothing like seeing proof that the plan is working for you !

    I did not get blood work BEFORE starting but I'm going to schedule my first blood work for the end of this month then redo every 3 months

    Thanks for posting this, it reminded me that I MUST do it so i can have records like this for my diary to help me stay ON PLAN

    Blood Pressure at start averaged 140/85 borderline Hypertension. Blood Pressure 18 days into plan has changed to 120/78 !!! Measured April 5, 2009

        AWESOME!!!! Blood work is a great tool; I find it better then the weight loss itself. Keep it up, you are a tough cookie getting through this with gout!

          Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
