Ok, so I started weighing and measuring myself 2 weeks ago, and I've heard of so many peeople losing significant amounts of weight and inches in that time. I know everyone loses differently, but I'm a little concerned that I haven't lost any inches yet. I've lost 6 lbs overall so far, but I'd like to see an inch or two come off too! Am I being too impatient? I'd really like to hear your input! Thanks!

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
There are tons of factors here. My best advice is to not get so caught up in the numbers. For example if you lost 0 pounds, but lost 2 inches, there would be a post saying "No weight lost.. Am I being Unrealistic" Sometimes you lost inches, others you lose pounds. If you stick to the way of life 6 months from now you will have lost plenty of inches and pounds. 2 weeks is just a small amount of time. Just give it time and it'll be gone. Keep up the good work though 6 pounds is a nice start!223/168/170

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
Yeah, you're right, 2 weeks isn't very long. I just feel kinda stuck, I'm happy about the weight loss, but I would like to see at least a little difference in my appearance...but I'll wait it out, its just pushing me to work harder to lose more weight to get my results.
I'm not giving up on this! Thanks for your advice!

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
I've lost 30 lbs in the last couple of months, but my measurements have barely moved.
I'm happy to take whatever verification presents itself... weight or inches. It's only a matter of time before BOTH are dramatically different.Name: Forrest
Gender: Male
Age: 43
Height: 5' 11"
Girth: 46"

200 lbs or less... it's gonna happen

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
Thanks guys for your responses. Fwl, 30 pounds is GREAT! I can't wait to say that I'm down 30 pounds. I'm a really impatient person, so I know that I just need to relax, and let my body do its thing, and eventually I'll notice a difference in my body rather than just on the scale. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely LOVE that the scale is going down, that is super exciting!
Niko, I have measured everything you could possibly think of, from ankles to wrists to neck and everywhere inbetween! lol I didn't take all of my measurements the other day, so I'll check my chest and see if thats where its coming off of. Thanks for your tips!
I really appreciate everyones advice and motivation, it is so nice to get that extra boost of support when you're feeling a little unsure of yourself.

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
I used to remind myself how long it took for me to get "out of control" (the correct answer was a lifetime!) and then promised myself I'd invest a few years working on this with the generous help of Dr. Atkins (DANDR 2002). Some days it was a few hours at a time, others a day at a time ... pretty soon it was a week and then as the pounds melted, I believed.
I know you want it ... now believe it can be true!

Re: No inches lost...am I being unrealistic?
Sometimes the fat we are losing is not in the belly or in the legs or arms... sometimes is the one surrounding the heart, the liver, kidneys, etc... the one we dont see but we can feel cause it makes it hard for our organs to work properly... I sometimes think that when I lose weight but not inches, is because Im losing that kind of fat hehehe

Congratulations!!!
That is so great, good job.
