Re: Thursday, June 4th Roll call

Went out for lunch today - I really haven't been doing that since I started this WOE a couple months ago. We went to an Indian buffet. I had greek salad, a spinach/cheese dish, a cauliflower curry, tandoori chicken & butter chicken. It was wonderful.
It was one of those open-to-the-kitchen floor plans & this chef was standing there making fresh Naan bread - I used to LOVE Naan, but somehow, passing it up was a breeze today. No bread is worth the 27lbs I've lost so far, and the 100+ yet to come!

So glad I have people who understand to share these things with - other people just don't get it

          Happy Thursday!

Re: Thursday, June 4th Roll call

went out for a birthday lunch but managed to stay low carb and even though people tempted me with alcohol i resisted

all of a sudden tonight i felt really depressed about my weight. Maybe because i jumped on the scales and i didnt lose anything. I know it takes time. But for people who have lost alot of weight how much on average did you lose? 1lb a week? I look at how much i am now and what i want to be and it feels so far away, it sort of scares me to think how long it will take but i know this is for life and not just a diet to get to my goal. *pings head* need to drill this into my thinking

I can't tell you how many times I have quit a "diet" because it was going to take too long to lose the weight! Now I keep kicking myself for not doing this years ago! If I had stuck with it 10 years ago, I would have been thin the last nine years!!!! When you start thinking it is taking too long, think about how you'll feel in 5 years...also, people find it really helpful to set mini-goals, some with rewards. like...when I lose 20 lbs, I'll go for a manicure, or...

It helps if you have some clothes you like you can't fit into yet, or other small "victories" along the way. The big picture is sometimes just a little too BIG.

Today was the last day of school for my monsters, so it was party upon party...but I didn't even come close to cheating. Now it's bedtime!

Thanks Julie you are right, the first time i did this i was dealing with a bigger number and i didnt think about the overall journey so i shouldnt do now. I guess this time around im more impatient lol

It doesnt help that this is weight i regained so every loss is not as great as the first time around. but still little goals make the journey a lot easier to bare with. Thank you again your words have helped me alot
