    How is everyone? Did you all survive Monday?

    Things are alright around here...think I overdid the exercises on the home gym, so the hubby grounded me for a few days. Other than that, the weight is still coming off and I'm a happy camper.

    29lbs gone...whooohoo!

    LOL...Oh my gosh..it's the 9th! Oops.

    Good morning Niko and CC'ers,
    Great job Niko on the exercise and weightloss!
    All is well in my neck of the woods. My Daughter is doing this with me so it sure is nice to have each others support. She's been helping me cook as well. By the way, she's 14. She's taken to it quite well.

      How awesome! My youngest has asked to do it with me, too, so he started yesterday. He's 8, but a huge little man. he's 5ft and weighed 139...he's now down to 136.5. He just wants his root beer belly to go away like Momma's did.

        That's great Niko!
        I allow my daughter to eat off of all the rungs except 5, 6, and 8, because of her age, her body is still growing, so needs the nutrients from these foods on these rungs. Portion size is very important. She eats 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Her snacks consist of either fruit or veggies. She eats moderatlely off of 6, 7 and 8 because of the glycemic index in those foods. She doesn't drink anything but water and decaf ice tea. She exercises daily as well.
        This is the program I have her on. I'm eating off of Rung 4 for now.
        I had thyroid issues which caused me to gain back weight. So i'm back to getting myself back to goal. It's sure nice to have her join me so I can teach her how to eat for a healthy future.

            Hey everyone, hope you are all having a good day. Interesting thread today, I just asked my 12 year old when he is starting, he said next monday. So i will weigh and measure him and give him complete instructions, hoping he will lose a few pounds. He is about 175 pounds i guess,wears 36 inch waist. My older son is a low carber, lost about 90 pounds, he is 20 this week. He bounces on and off, works at a nursing home in dietary and eats the food, at home, he eats low carb. He works out alot, something I hope my younger son and I can do together. I tried to join a gym last year, for the whole family. They would not let my younger son work out till age 13. Liability. I said look at him, he needs to work out. One of my older sons dreams is to open a gym for children, teach people to low carb, cook their meals. Anyhoo, i am being long. Have a great rest of the day.

              Lisa, not long at all hun. I enjoyed reading about your eperiences with your kids. I love how parents are taking control of their childrens health. I'm thinking that maybe we should all start a thread for this so we can help support each other with our kids. Something like "Parents and Their Children on Atkins". What do you think? Would you folks like to post in a thread like that?

              What a great idea your son has about a gym for kids. That totally rocks! Have cooking lessons on the side. Very cool!
              Children are a product of their enviroment. It's up to us, parents, to set a healthy enviroment for them. I'm really proud of you Niko, Lisa and all parents, that take on this responsibility for your kids. Big kudos and pats on the back.
