    Jogging...on an actual track...really!

Ok, I've been trying to increase my time exercising. I'm only able to make the gym 2 days a week (long story). So today is just beautiful outside. I did my thing at my daughter's school, came home and walked the 1/4 mile over to the track, walked 1 more 1/4 mile and RAN/JOGGED 1 mile.

That's such a mental breakthrough for me you just can't know. I did it! 4 TIMES around, all by myself. Holy moley! I was red faced and breathing hard but WOW, I really did it. Didn't stop (but did have to adjust the shorts over and over) until I passed that final 1/4 mile.

It's SOOOOOOOOOO different from the treadmill. Actually a bit harder.

I walked 1 more 1/4 mile lap and then walked the 1/4 mile home.

    All in 30 minutes.

Next time I will try it with better shorts (ooooh OUCH the chafe!!) LOL LOL!!

    Woo HOO!

    Kathy

      WTG!

WTG! Unfortunately by Breasts are so big, I'd knock myself out if I took off running. I have attempted to jog on the treadmill--I got frustrated because I didn't even get tired, but the next day my back hurt and my chest area was so sore :sadblinky. I have to wait until I've shrunk more for the marathon action :yes

I am happy for you though :joy keep up the good work--run a mile for me!

YAY for you! I have also had to stop going to the gym as much. With gas prices the way they are and with us being a one income family with another baby on the way, we are having to find ways to save money, so now I am looking for new ways to get my exercise in. I wish we had a track close by to walk on.

Next thing you know you'll be announcing your entry in the 5k!

Well I can tell the difference from treadmill to track, my right knee is a bit stiff, so I am going to take it real slow out on the track. Next time will be Friday on the treadmill (since it'll be raining) so my knee will get it's required rest.

ouch yep the treadmillwith the padded deck is a lot easier. most running sites will tell you to up the incline some on your treadmill to more closly match running.

if your knees are a problem check out the coolrunning.com training for beginers advice for seeing if you have a fixable problem that altering your stide, heel strike posistion or even your shoes will correct.
