    Good morning everyone! Busy day already, but I can't complain.

    Anyone heard from ChickLady lately?
    40 year old male 6' 3"

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
    2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
    3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
    4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

      Good Morning Everyone. I am also new to the forum. I have over 100lbs to loose and I am looking for a buddy.. I am on the 14 day induction phase.. for people who have over 100lbs to loose the question I have is how long do most people who have that much weight to loose stay on the program? I am not sure if I am posting this in the right spot.. hope this is ok..

      BTW.. I am so craving chips right now!!! lol..

      Current:247
      Mini Goal: 25 lbs
      2nd Mini Goal: 25 lbs
      3rd Mini Goal:25 lbs
      Goal Weight: 158 lbs

        Welcome the the CC mizski and lovebug!
        Lovebug, the answer to your question is yes! You will discover that this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle, where you will make lifestyle changes for life. You will lose weight and become the healthiest you've ever been. You will also find that there are healthier alternatives to your favorite foods. As far as you craving chips, you can make some cheese crackers to help satisfy that. I'll look around for the recipe for you. It's induction friendly as well.
        I stayed on induction for 4 months when I initially lost all my weight.
        This is a lifetime wol (way of life).

          Sherri, thank you so much for looking for the recipe it might just help my cravings... and for your response to my post.. I really appreciate it.. 4 months.. how did you know it was time to change to the next phase? I am so sorry for all the questions.. I don't really know where to look..

            Here's one of the recipes I found for cheese crackers-
            I use a cookie sheet with parchment paper on it. It will keep them from burning and will be easy for clean up.


            Small pinch of grated cheddar for each "chip"
            ½ tsp. onion powder
            ½ tsp. garlic powder

            Place on non-stick cookie sheet & bake at 400º for
            approximately 6 minutes until flat, hard, & crisp - not
            burned! Remove with spatula & place on paper towel

            (I dont use the garlic and onion powder but I do put some dryed parsley on top and some all seasoning and its great!! PERFECT snack for induction.)

              I realized it was time for me to move onto OWL Rung 1 when my weight loss slowed. When I moved up to Rung 1, which is just 5 net carbs of more veggies, my weightloss speeded up again.
              Do you have DANDR 2002? Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? It's a must have and will help guide you in your journey. It's all I had when I lost all my weight. I didn't find this board untill a couple of years ago. I've been at it (atkins) for 5 years now.

                Thanks for the recipe, yes I have the book and I read it though I didn't really understand the whole part of when to jump phases and then I really became confused when reading everyone's posts...

                    1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
                    2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
                    3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
                    4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
                    5th major goal met - My 1 yr. Atkins anniversary - Weighing 184 lbs. this day
                    Current weight – 184 lbs.
                    Goal weight - 150 – 160

                          Sherri has said it all and I'm in FULL agreement with her....this is not a diet or a short term thing, it's a lifestyle...a way of eating that you will stick to for the rest of your life and will reap NUMEROUS benefits from.
