  • Ok guys, I need your help! :)

Ok, so...I've been slackin lately, a lot. I've been following OWL rung 1 for a while and I've noticed that my weight loss is slowing down considerably. I'm thinking about going back on induction to try to lose some extra lbs. And one of my questions is, I didn't see in DANDR where Dr. Atkins touched on low carb products like tortillas and bread...do you know if those products are induction friendly or if they may be the culprate behind my slowed weight loss? Anyway, any info, suggestions or motivated you'd be able to give would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Going back to induction isn't a good idea -- post a few days menus on the Rate My Menu area and let us see what is going on. You say yourself you have been slacking so it's not the plan that isn't working it is, unfortunately, you. Once you get through the first 2 weeks of induction your weight loss will slow down -- while it would be nice to continue large weight loss throughout the plan it doesn't happen.

As far as tortillas and bread - NO it's not allowed until further up the Rungs. Check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) and the OWL Rung chart to see what you should be eating. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...te-ladder.html

Rung 1 is adding an additional 5 new carbs of veggies.

Low carb tortillas, etc are Rung 9 items. As Carole said, induction & Rung 1 are ONLY the foods on the list of foods acceptable for induction. I'm not really sure what you mean by slacking...are you have more than 3 sweeteners (including pop, Davinci syrup, etc) or more than 3-4oz cheese?

I'd try doing a 'strict' Rung 1 for a couple weeks before I considered going back to induction (IMO)

Re: Ok guys, I need your help!

Thanks guys...I guess I've been doing this all wrong. I had no idea that low carb tortillas and bread weren't allowed until rung 9! That's horrible, that stuff has really helped me to not fall off the diet, I can't imagine having to say goodbye to it now. By slacking I mean that I haven't been as strict on what I'm eating, like most of my carbs may or may not be coming from veggies, ect. I steer clear from pop and artificial sweeteners most of the time unless I have like a packet of splenda with iced tea or something. Well....maybe I should just start over? I mean, I'm still losing weight this way, just not as much as I'd like. But now that I know I've been eating things I'm not technically allowed to eat, I feel like I've totally screwed this up. Ugh.......how frustrating. What do I do now guys?

Re: Ok guys, I need your help!

Just keep on going (minus bread & tortillas ). There is no reason to go back to induction - it won't "do" anything special. Do post your menu in the review my menu forum, the mods & other experienced people will look at it & make suggestions that can help you. I posted some of mine early in my journey. Don't beat yourself up - these are major changes you are making in your life, mistakes will be made (we've all been there!) Just keep going, eliminating mistakes as you realize you've made them.
