      Good morning Blue, Lovebug and all to come!

      I hope all of you have a fabulous low carb day today, let's make it a great one!

      I will be on my way to the hospital in a couple of hours to undergo my biopsy...should be eventful. Oh well, in a few hours this part will be behind me for now so that is a good thing.

      Have a great day everyone, keep up the dedication and determination you're doing MARVELOUS!!!! Drink lots of water and fit in some form of exercise into your routine today.

      Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
      April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
      Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
      1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
      2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
      3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
      4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
      5th major goal met - My 1 yr. Atkins anniversary - Weighing 184 lbs. this day
      Current weight – 183 lbs.
      Goal weight - 150 – 160

            A little down today as I haven't lost any weight for almost 2 weeks. Reminding myself that I am losing inches (clothes are looser) and need to find my measuring tape to start tracking inches.

            I am not cheating and doing all the right things, so I know I just have to be patient.

            Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
            Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

            Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
            Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
            Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
            Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!

                    Bizzle, it's not uncommon for the scale and measuring tape to take turns with your progress. I see a visit from the Whooshie Fairy in your near future. As long as you're doing everything right, then there's no cause for concern. Don't allow the scale to determine how your day is going to be. You're in control, not that evil scale! Hang in there sweetie. You're doing great!
                    Niko, CONGRATS on the three pounds. Ummmm 3 pounds is excellent for a week loss! It's more than just "something"

                    Yesterday was my birthday and I stayed on plan. My daughter and I shared dessert last night. It was a 3 minute almond flour chocolate cake, so yummy! I'm looking forward to weighing on Sunday. I can tell in my clothes that i'm headed back in the right direction again and my thyroid is functioning in high gear. What a difference!

                      Thanks for the encouragement all. It's so frustrating that I've always been a slow loser. It's what's caused me to fall off the wagon many times. I've been trying extra hard this time to do the right things, cutting out known stallers as much as possible, not cheating, tracking everything, watching portion sizes, exercising etc.

                      At least it's the weekend!

                        Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and pm's of encouragement and support regarding my procedure this morning....your messages were great to come home to Man alive, I wish I could hug each and every one of you in person!

                        I have been at home hanging out and trying to behave lol! I'm not allowed to try exercising till Sunday....so I have officially been "benched" as they say! Feeling tender and tired but doing I'm doing fine. I think I'm going to go for a nap soon, that should keep me out of trouble I will receive my biopsy results Aug 7th from my family doctor or sooner from my specialist depending on when the results return...it usually takes a week to a week and a half apparently.

                        Thank you again, you guys make my days!

                        Have a fabulous low carb weekend and stay in touch!

                          Well done, you're doing fantastic Bizzlekitty!!!!!

                          You have courage and strength that is evident in the way you are sticking to your plan and not giving in, that my friend is inspirational and what it's all about...way to go!!!

                          Losing slowly is very good for the system. By doing so, your system is allowed to catch up with the weight loss change and be able to adapt in a very healthy way.

                          Although I didn't try to lose my weight fast, it came off very quickly for me. Yes, that was nice but I will share something with you. During this past year and a bit I have had some medical episodes that were considered dangerous due to the rapid weight loss. A couple of times my doctor had to pull in the reins and have me cut down my exercise routine because the weight loss was happening way too fast and because of it I was experiencing dangerous symptoms and episodes from the rapid weight loss.

                          My doctor explained to me that even though it was important and good for my body to lose the weight, individuals such as myself who lose a great deal of weight especially in a short period of time end up having a greater risk of sudden death because the body can not catch up to such a drastic change. So yes, it's nice to have achieved the results I have in the time frame I have (not that I tried to lose it this fast because I didn't...it just has happened this way for me) however, I have experienced some not so good side effects that I have had to overcome and work through.

                          I share this with you because it was an eye opener to me and really showed me the other side of losing the amount of weight I have in the short period of time it has taken.

                          My mother has lost 200 lbs and it has taken her just over 4 yrs. Although she didn't do it through the Atkins way of eating, she did do it through low carb (just in case someone reading this is wondering how she did it) and in those 4 yrs she did not have the episodes with her health that I have had periodically throughout my time because her body was able to adjust and re-adjust to her gradual yet VERY successful weight loss. She came to visit with me today and we were talking about her weight and how she walks three times a day and eats low carb and how she is determined to continue towards maintaining great health...she is an amazing example of sticking to her program and being successful...she now weighs 165 lbs. I am extremely proud of her and I admire people such as yourself and my mom who lose slower but still stick to the program.

                          I admire and respect your strength greatly....keep it up and if you ever would like to talk shoot me over a pm.

                          I have always said from the beginning when I started on this board a year ago..."We're all in the together!".

                          Keep in touch and keep writing, this board is an amazing place to give and receive the support we need while we travel along our journey to great health!
