Ok, here is the scoop....

A month ago, I bought some mint green pants with a white top to wear to the Workshop/Meeting. I haven't tried them on since I bought them. This morning, I put them on and my pants kept falling down. I put the belt on and it puckered up and looked funny. So, I wore my black dress pants, with a pink sweater. It is COLD here so it was okay. I did my hair -- but the rain and wind made everyone have the same hairdo today. We all had fly-a-way hairdos. No Photos...


Ok, The workshop went well and everyone was coming in and looking at me as though they expected me to be uptight. Instead, I mustered up all my strength and smiled and acted like nothing was wrong. The women who started all the trouble never came. They were all talk. However, all the others who they have been emailing and calling with accusations did come.

At the board meeting, it was brought up and I simply told them that our League was bigger than the negative actions of a few people. I said that I was taking over the Conference and moving it to the Northern part of the state. Nobody vetoed my decisions and everyone said they supported me and would back me 100%. Many of them volunteered to help. I was a bit shocked, but...figured they are probably relieved that I wasn't going to dwell on the things that have been going on. We will go on from here and show others that we are a strong organization that will not allow a few people ruin it for all the members. I didn't get to use the gavel. (darn)

Thats all. I feel good about the day.

I read this topic a little late and I hope all went well with the meeting. I work for a non-profit that is close to many hearts and I completely understand what you mean about interpersonal bickering becoming outright war. Sometimes I wish I could just yell at people to grow up and act older than the girls they are supposed to be mentoring. :bang

I know you as a confident and poised leader, so I know that will come across in this situation too!
