  • Snacks on Induction

    Hello Everyone!
It is Debbie. I am trying to stay on the wagon today. It is day 1 for me after a miserable day 4. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for snacks I can take with me so I am not tempted?

are you a sweet eater or a salty eater?

For sweets, I like using the tip another CCer gave me of home-made or SF whipped cream with a little splenda and chocolate (sometimes I freeze it, yum)

For salty/crunchy, someone suggseted putting pepperoni or cheese slices in the oven and baking them to the crunchy part. plain (uncooked) pepperoni usually does it for me.

    Just a couple of ideas.

I would watch the pork rinds. The serving size on the one's I buy are about six-eight pieces. They contain a lot of sodium so be wary of that. And like anything, eat only until you're full.

I keep pepperoni in the fridge at work and home. It is a life saver for me many times. I like it cold either by itself or with a couple of small slices of cheese. It's a great snack and very easy and cheap.

              Sugar-free jello

Good idea Kim. Sugar-free Jello is legal, right?

You should find SF jello that is not sweetned with aspartame though..

I could eat cucumbers and/or red peppers with blue cheese forever. Sometimes I go weeks with having that for lunch with some turkey and swiss rolled up.

I cannot remember if it was on here, but I also like ham and cream cheese rolled up around a pickle.

Instead of jello, if you want that kind of puddingy thing...I sometimes heat up some canned pumpkin, butter, cinnamon adn then a spoon of cream or cream cheese. I eat it hot or cold. I do not taste teh difference b/w adding adn not adding splenda, but I do not.

                    snack

This was an accident that turned out well. I was making egg salad, but letting my 8 yr old help instead of pulsing the food processor, he pulverized the eggs. I added mayo, splenda, mustard as usual. Used red pepper strips and ate it as a dip. Yummy.
