  • I posted this in my journal, but I thought I'd share here

I'm feeling pretty awesome right now, I just went for my first run/jog/walk/stumbleforwardinastrangemanner of the season. I did 2.6 miles in 27:43. Which is my best time so far since I started losing weight last June. And I haven't even run at all since last fall when I did my five mile jaunt in 58:06.

I have been cheat free all day, and I just gave the kids some leftover b-day cake, a a big chunck of frosting fell off a piece. I soooooo easily could have scooped it up and ate it, but I scooped it up and put it on a piece of cake for them.

Maybe I finally am back. Please God let it be so.

I want to try to run 3-4 days a week with one of those days being a 5 miler (2.6 the other days). I want my run time to meet the Army's APFT standards. Then I will be happy.

    Goal weight, here I come!
    Jim

Hey I have the same standard before me... At least I am pretty sure it is the same for 33 vs. 36 year olds. We should really take on the standard together. Your time is pretty good for the first time this year. I am a bit envious of it actually (My current time for 2 miles is 21:05, I doubt I had anything leftover for the final .5 mile.) You are inspiring to get out this week in between the rain drops and get a few more miles done. WTG!

      Jim,

WELCOME BACK!! You definitely didn't waste any time getting back in the swing of things. What I do is just take it one day at a time, one pound at a time. I'd love to be able to run or jog. I walk but have to spread it out throughout the day, half in the morning and half at night. And I still have pains in my knees from walking. Good luck, I'm proud of you for not eating the icing. You are doing awesome!!

        Well Done Jim

You have certainly jumped back on the wagon at amazing speed! I am currently having trouble adding more exercise into my own daily routine but posts like yours never fail to inspire me to carry on. Keep up the good work and the seconds will start reducing along with with stats.

Hooray for Jim! You are definitely back! Each day will be easier than the one before and soon you will be wondering why you didn't start this sooner as it is so easy for you. Congrats on not eating the evil frosting! LOL
