  • CC Roll Call- Fri, Nov 13-09

    Good morning everyone,

    It's Friday!!!!!

    I'm off to put in my morning workout.....wishing everyone a great low carb day.

    Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
    April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
    Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
    1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
    2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
    3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
    4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
    5th major goal met - My 1 yr. Atkins anniversary - Weighing 184 lbs. this day
    Current weight – 172 lbs.
    Goal weight - 150 – 160

    My personal journey - Before and during - From 400 lbs. to 247 lbs. Not done yet!!!

    Keetje signing in from a wet and windy London. Don't think I will be taking a walk today - might try some t'ai chi.

      Morning All,

      On my way to "Gentle Yoga 50+" Class. (Don't tell anyone I am 50+) It's only a number that I ignore!!!

      Beautiful Day today, 50 degrees on it's way to 60! Sun is shining, and it is NOVEMBER! So lucky for this weather this time of year!!!

      I just started a little t'ai chi with a DVD recently. I like it, but I am very new at it. It really is calming!

            Started Atkins at 318 on 7/5/09

            3rd - 278 - 11/11/09!
            4rd - 271 (minus 80) -12/24/09!
            5th - 261 (minus 90, least since '90) - 4/28/10
            6th - 251 (minus 100 from high weight) -

            9th- 225 (college athletics weight, minus 126)
            FINAL GOAL - 215 (?) - (minus 136)

              Hi Sarina on plan and enjoying the day as usual with my baby.Sometimes I wonder if I didnt have him I would have been really bored and lonely as the elder 2 go to school.(I LOVE MY BABY).

                    Hi all, yesterday I (foolishly?) agreed to cut out soda. For me that means also cutting out caffeine as soda is my sole caffeine source. Suffereing a bit with headaches and such, but overall I'm doing well. Wish me luck!

                        Hi Grant. I gave up caffeine on induction...I suffered for a few days then felt much better Good luck, I'm sure you'll do just fine

                          Hey Grant, good for you.....you'll be thankful you kicked the soda to the curb!

                          Hang in there...drink plenty of water and before you know it you'll be headache free and feeling pretty pleased with yourself in being soda free....great decision...well done!!!!

                            Good luck with it Grant...

                            I have, in the past, been a serious coffee afficianado... a full french press in the am, a huge serving (16oz?) from a coffee shop mid afternoon, maybe some with dinner, etc. Some days I probably had as many as 10 cups, maybe more (if you were to measure by 6 oz cups - I was usually drinking out of 15 ounce travel mugs to keep it hot, LOL!)... not every day, but I also probably rarely had LESS than 5 cups.

                            I had cut back some since being on Atkins, but still had too much on many days...

                            I decided not that long ago that I was simply taking in too much caffeine and I just quit - literally. Went from numerous cups to zero overnight. The first day I couldn't talk straight although otherwise I felt okay - had a few ounces just to get my mouth in gear again so I would stop coming across as a babbling fool. The second day I did one cup of decaf I think. By the third day I was fine. No headaches, no other effects noticed.

                            I do decaf now, only a few cups a day, and may let myself have one small teacup of leaded, but really, it was shockingly easy, especially given my long history of excessive coffee drinking. As a bonus, I noticed the other day how much WHITER my teeth looked, then remembered I had cut out most of my coffee, LOL! It hadn't even occurred to me before that they were less than bright white, but obviously they were since I have noticed a difference.

                            I hope your experience is similar and the head pain subsides quickly.
