  • Knock, knock, may I join now?

I have looked forward to the day for so long when I could start a topic in this forum and ask to join the Century Club because I had finally lost 100 pounds.

And then lately I've been so busy doing all those doctor appointments, labs, scans, etc. that my doc seems to think I need to do more regularly than I have in the past, plus it is that wonderful season of the year filled with joyful activities and such ... I have been so busy I haven't been making the trip to the gym, so I figured I wouldn't be here until sometime in January. I was already a slow loser, but not working out brings things pretty much to a standstill for me.

I did make sure I didn't lose ground, though. My doctor is so proud of me and I don't want to disappoint him any more than I don't want to disappoint me.

All that to say I happened on the scale two days ago and was quite surprised to see I finally made it to exactly 100 pounds lost by my scale. Since that seems to be holding, I think I'm going to claim it.

So, may I join this elite group officially now? Pretty please?

          Hi!
I am not in the century club (sorry if I am not suppose to post) even though I probably need to be because I do have 100 pounds to lose (I didn't know there was a club 'til now, LOL). Anyways I just wanted to stop in and congratulate you on your loss!
          WAY TO GO!!

Oh, noooez! After a year and a half of longing to belong!

You had better open that door, Miss Julie, before you get to see my violent side!

Of course, I could always "try" to lose another 100?

Re: Knock, knock, may I join now?

And thanks for the congrats, everyone. I didn't expect this to take so long, but can't say I have regrets. It's all so natural for me now. Taking time with it helps in the process of making this a way of eating for life. I don't think I can know how to go back now.

As for being "thin," I'm finding this rather puzzling. I am actually able to zip/button size 6 jeans now, although I think they are much too "snug" to wear in public. I have never been that small as an adult before and yet I weigh 169 pounds! When I wore size 7 previously I was around 118-120 pounds.

Eating this way and working out combined brings rather amazing results which don't seem to correspond to those numbers on the scale. I still see fat that needs to go and don't yet consider somewhere in the area of my goal weight unreasonable. I guess that's because fat weighs less than muscle and fat is what we're losing.

It's fun that people I meet don't know how much I still have to lose.
