  • Monday Roll call 1-4

How's everyone doing this gorgeous Monday morning? Are you ready for another week of loss? Goodness knows I am!! Just a few more months until dd's graduation and I refuse to be an embarrassment for her. Hoping for another 40lbs or so, but we'll see.

For now, it's off to the Doc to get my thyroid checked and some meds for this awful cold. Have a fabulous day, Everyone!

    Re: Monday Roll call 1-4

I'm around, running errands and tending to household things all day today (day off).

Still back on plan with no problems after some sampling of items at the holidays, have lost half of the water weight pounds I put back on from said sampling. Hoping for a loss well into the 260s by the end of the month but am not planning to do anything extreme to achieve this other than following my plan as normal with a few less carbs daily. If I make it, great, and if not, well, that is something to look forward to in February I suppose.

The holidays are over, so now I am basically ready for cold weather to be over also. I truly dislike cold weather though it seems appropriate until after New Years. It makes me lethargic, and I just don't want to do much (hardly anything outside, and not as much as normal inside either). One month (December) is about my limit for cold tolerance, LOL! By this time each year, I am usually starting to count down until spring arrives. . . "only 7 1/2 more weeks until March!" Not that March can't be cold also, but at least it is usually very short-lived, several days at most, here in the south anyways.

Maybe if I did some of my exercise challenges it would warm me up and I wouldn't think about the cold. Of course, spending time in the kitchen cooking up a batch of chicken for the next few days would likely do the same, LOL!

    Happy Monday all -

Unfortunately, we're about to be slammed again, A2G. I'm not sure where in the South you're located, but we're supposed to get hammered on Thursday in Dallas. Isn't that fabulous? GRRRR I don't even own a coat!

I hope you hit your goal this month..that would be awesome!

LOL, I'm bitchin' about low temps in the teens, only slightly below the 20s that you are looking forward to getting UP to ;-)

It's all relative, I suppose. A friend of mine used to live in Alaska and she swore it didn't feel as cold due to the low humidity. Whatever, cold is cold, and once it gets into the twenties or below, I ain't happy about it.

I have a couple of coats, but damn I hate wearing the bulky things.

            Re: Monday Roll call 1-4

I'm with Sonya - it is *^%# cold here too. I wore a pair of (too big) sweats over my jeans & 2 pairs of socks just to walk the dogs around the block the other day!

That is funny about the cold making you lethargic - that is how I feel about the heat! I am much more active when it is cool out, although I do limit outdoor activity when it is this cold.

First day back at work today - although I would have liked to be off a little longer, I am sort of glad to get back to a routine.

Hope everyone had a great day!

              Hi Friends,
Sounds like your weather is a little unusual. Please feel free to join us-let us know where you are and tell us when you have some worse than usual weather, severe temps, etc. We are all enjoying sharing stories and seeing who's temp is the hottest or coldest. I like to think of it as sort of an Atkins geography lesson.

                Re: Monday Roll call 1-4

Oh, well we are a little colder than usual, but it really isn't anything dramatic.

It doesn't have to be unusually cold to aggravate me, though, I just hate cold in general. The definition of cold to me is that wearing any layer beyond one shirt outside is not really optional but a necessity, LOL! Sad but true. I prefer to wear a t shirt and shorts in the house year round, and really don't even want to have to wear long sleeves outside even without a jacket. I do break down and wear sweatpants in the house in the winter, but it ain't my preference.

I would probably do well in the tropics - 80s and sunny or even a warm afternoon rain feels about like perfect weather to me. I enjoy March through October or early November, and then I try to pretend winter isn't on it's way for another month or so. Then it's the holidays and I am distracted. Then the holidays are over and I huddle up and wait for spring again and daydream about all the things I could be doing outside if only it were warmer, LOL!
