  • Hump Day Roll Call 1-6

Good morning! How's everyone feeling today? I have a question for you guys. How often do you weigh? Do you have a set day and time that you do it?

I'm fairly random in weighing in. Sometimes I just couldn't care less and at others, I'm hopping on the scale pretty regularly. Currently, I don't care..lol.

I weigh in every Wednesday morning. This is my "official" weigh-in and the number that I track. I sometimes jump on the scale other days "to have a peek".

I can weigh 2-6 pounds more in the evening than I do in the morning, so I always weigh as soon as I get up

Re: Hump Day Roll Call 1-6

My official weigh time is Monday mornings because that is the only day when I always get up at the same time. Also, it often helps me stay 'good' on weekends, knowing that I have to weigh on Monday morning.

Like Julie I sometimes weigh other days too, but only ever in the morning before eating or drinking anything.

I weigh myself daily (I know you're not supposed to, but curiosity is my weakness!) always in the morning before I eat or drink. I avoid weighing myself after eating or drinking because I know the weight will be altered. I'm a bit of a scale junkie, seeing that number go down is like crack to me, lol.

I also weigh every single day in the mornings. It isn't a problem for me, as I have done this for years and years and am fully aware of the fluctuations that can happen, sometimes for seemingly no reason, and thus I don't take any individual day or two very seriously. I also frequently weigh in the evenings just before bed as well, and can fairly accurately predict my weight for the next morning from this (slightly over 2 pounds less the next morning from any given evening weigh in, on average, though sometimes it sneaks up to 3 or even more pounds).

I record these daily morning weights on a written chart I keep handy, along with my daily intake of carbs and calories. I enjoy trying to distinguish patterns from all this data. What I have determined thus far is that my average carb intake from any given week is a reasonable predictor of my weight loss for the FOLLOWING week even more so than for that week itself.

I also take my measurements 3 to 4 times a month. I chart these also on my own weight loss chart.

I also log my foods, weight, and measurements into Fitday and rarely miss a day.

I suppose I am a data junkie, LOL! It's the scientist in me I suppose ;-)
