  • 100 lbs to lose, and ready to do it!

Hi everyone! Can I join the club?

I'm a 24 year old stay at home mom to 2 great kids. I've gained 50lbs since having kids, and I was about 50 lbs overweight even before that. I am 5'6 and weigh 250 (did weight 250, I've lost 8 lbs so far! - day 9 of induction).

For years I've had that voice in the back of my head that kept saying "you'll lose the weight eventually, you weren't destined to be fat forever" but recently that voice has been saying "well, it's too easy to be fat and I'm pretty comfy, so it's ok if your overweight forever" and that scared me.

My husband took a picture of me at Christmas and I was horrified. You never really get how big you are until you see it in a picture. I was sitting next to a friend who is very thin and fit and I was so embarrassed to see myself in that picture. I am a member of another message board for mom's and someone said they we're doing Atkins. So I went to the bookstore, bought the book and 2 days later started Induction.

So here I am! 100 lbs to lose and so, so ready to do it. I'm loving this WOE and am so happy I finally decided to get started losing this weight

    Hi Julie,

Great job on 8 lbs gone so far, welcome to ADBB and the century club. Maybe sure you check out the many forums on the site, there are many good people who have some good advise, tips, etc.

    Happy New Year-Roger

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

I live in western NY, and the cost of living is pretty cheap around here. Although lately things are getting tight so I'm looking for a part-time job...something I can do for a few hours when my husband comes home from work.

Plus that will get me off my butt and moving too! LOL

I own a home daycare doing preschool, I make 225- 250 per child! Its great being a stay at home mom and working.... Plus it keeps me and the kids busy and on a routine. Ever think of doing daycare?
