Good afternoon all -
Well, it's a good thing I am somewhat persistant. I have yet to lose a single pound this month despite eating in a way that I think SHOULD make me lose. Stuck in a daily 5 pound range. Just looked at my stats for the month, and I am averaging about 31 or 32 carbs a day and somewhere around 2000 calories. Fat percentages are fine. Obviously there is a difference in what I think SHOULD make me lose and what actually does. Not that that is a new situation for me, I've experienced it most all my adult life (used to be in the counting calories dept).
This may end up being the first ever month on Atkins that I did not lose a single pound. I suppose after eight months, it was bound to happen sometime. I also know I haven't had as much water these past two months as before because I hate being cold and drink a lot of coffee in the winter (mostly decaf) and it doesn't leave as much room for water. I also know being cold makes me lazy and I haven't exercised as much. Additionally, I know that what seems to be my cutoff point for losing over the past 8 months is a carb level somewhere in the low to mid 30s, so I am riding the line most days anyway.
It pains me to think that perhaps I have wasted an entire month over a matter of cutting out about 3 carbs a day and drinking maybe 2 more glasses of water daily.
But, I'm also happy that I haven't gained, and have lost a tiny bit in my measurements (1/4 to a 1/2 inch in just a couple of places, but I'll take what I can get).
Still, it can be frustrating at times. Was talking to someone not that long ago who was asking about my diet. He stated that he cut out bread and coke ONLY a few years ago and made NO other changes and lost over 60 pounds in about 6 months. How nice that must be, while I struggle to count carbs daily and apparently have to stay right at 30 carbs a day or less to lose anything.
Okay, that's enough of my complaining fest. I suppose I should get up and do some exercise and drink a glass of water even though I don't feel like it. I also don't feel like going another several weeks with no weight loss, LOL!
I know it will work if I stick with it and make some tiny adjustments. It's just so much more fun when you see results somewhat regularly.
Happy Tuesday -
