  • Started working out and gaining....

    How long does it last? I just joined a gym on MONDAY and instead of losing I have gained like 4 pounds!!! I'm trying not to think about it, but I even "feel" heavier.

    I'm trying to say it it just water weight, but is it? If so how long will it last? I am doing some functional training exercises and about 35 mins on the elliptical. That is all I can do for now.

    Does taking a diuretic have any thing to do with it???

    It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!

    I always gain weight when I start working out no matter if it is cardio or strength I have a 3-5 lb gain. The reverse is true too if I stop working out I loose the weight quickly, so I am lead to believe it must just be water weight. I just try to remind myself that in the long run the muscle will benefit my weight loss and health. This is a good article
