Unlimited long distance minutes and nobody to call...

I signed up for Vonage VOIP phone service last Monday night, and I have setup my phone and all that. Now comes the part where I realize I have unlimited long distance but no one to call. You can only bother your big brother so many times. I am just glad I am not paying the rate-hiking Qwest another dime. Ever realize you don't have as many friends to call as you used?

Just make sure you get everything set up in case you need to call 911 -- sometimes there are some problems with that if the set is done correctly -- and you don't want to find that kind of thing out too late!

I did that and the test call already. (I agree you certainly don't want to wait until too late.)

The good news is that Qwest and Vonage have agreed to provide e911 information as of a press release on Friday. I am not sure how soon this will be in place, but it is certainly easier than the conversation I had with the person at Public Safety building today. If all else fails, there is always my cell to make the call.
