I've always believed that in many aspects of life, you gotta go with what works for you, not necessarily what everyone else is doing. As long as you're okay with your decision, then I'm behind you!!!! :hug

I'd like to support our Mystery Friend :hug Honestly if I had the resources I would have the surgery in a heart beat. Obisity has haunted me my whole life, and I know the despiration of trying to break free from its grasp. I used to pray to God to please make me thin like the other girls.

Hugs to you. And you can talk to us about anything. :nod I love this group so much, I don't think I'll ever be able to leave.

Good luck, and I hope you are able to take our hand, because we've all certainly extended it to you. Lean on us, and we'll lean back, and one step at a time, we'll get to where we're all going. :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug

I think that you have to do what is best for you and your family. It saddens me that she doesn't feel comfortable talking about this with us, but I understand.

I am fully behind making your life complete, and happy, whatever it takes! If surgery is what it is going to take, then you have all of my support, prayers, and well wishes backing you up.

Well guys I am the one that is going for the WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY. I thank you all for showing me that You understand my choice and many of you understand that after my surgery i will be following locarb lifestyle too. I just need the tool to get me full. I do have a problem with portions and its a reason even atkins didnt come easy to me. I dont get satisfied on the same amount of food as the average person. I thank PAMMIE for helping me to come share this with my freinds of the centruy club. I was terrified to do it. She suggested it her post and if i felt comfortable I may or may not have to come and say who was doing this choice. BASED on your replies i feel you understand and i feel its okay to come forward. THANKS FRIENDS

MY surgery was for MAY 25th but do to no available family i have to move it out a week now and its also, based on me loosing a required 25 lbs which i am at 20 down now. BEEN doing atkins to loose the pre op weight and ATKINS will me my diet when im back on solid foods.
THANKS for showing me you understand.
I know this isnt foreveryone but at this point for my good
health i have to do this. I need this tool.
TO know i am still welcome here is imporant cause even when
i fall off the wagon of ATKINS i still have to check on my FAMILY
              here!
THANKS for the great support on my choice and ill let all know about my journey and soon enough i will be doing atkins again with you guys!
              THANKS for understanding

I was afraid alot or prior posts were very against it.

ITS not an easy way out and its a tool that i have to use
with a lo carb diet. I just need the help with my bottomless
                    pit of an appetite.

ITS scary but i need this for my helath.
                    thanks for understanding.
cause i still have to diet or this is for waste, just like you guys.
                    thanks

If everyone had to do everything in exactly the same way what a boring old world this would be! As much as I love Atkins, I realize that it isn't the best choice for everybody. Each of us has to decide what works for us individually. I would never condemn anyone for taking a different route. We are all trying to get to the same goal...good health. If your friend is reading this, I wish her the very best for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. Please feel free to post regarding your weight loss journey. Who knows if some of us will be in the same place in a few months time and having to make the same decision. No one can predict the future. In case any of us do have to decide on surgery, it would be extremely helpful to have input from one of our own who can give us information and answer questions. We are here to support you whatever you decide. :hug

Lisa2....Sorry I didn't read the 2nd page before I replied, so I just found out you were the one after I posted. For Heavens sake, girl! Of course we support you! After my surgery i will be on atkins. YOUR expected
to follow lo carb lifestyle but with my tool i will
get full and it will be easier for me to be a sucess.

My main window of big loss is the first 6 months then
i have to work at it real hard like everyone else. THANKs
for understanding!!!!! And i will keep everyone posted. RIGHT
now im working on my pre op weight loss requirement that my
surgeon is strict with and im doing it with ATKINS. I am down
about 18 - 20 lbs nows and have to reach 25 for the surgery.

so what method are you using? the vertical banding or the resctioning? As I posted we had a very sucesfull loser who stopped losing on her surgery and came here to do Atkins to get to goal weight.

If you PM me I can put you in contact with her.

Oh and we get to count all your weight lost in our team 3 total right? :yes

                                Lisa,

Hon one thing you have to promise us is that you keep us updated on how you are doing as much as you possibly can. You know with us being a bunch of "worrying mother hens" we will be on pins and needles til we hear you are ok.

Do we have a CC'r close to you that you can call or a family member we can call the day of the surgery to make sure you are ok? You need a buddy to keep us informed.

You've been with us for over a year. We'd never turn on you no matter what you decided to do. What's good for one is not good for all and we know that. I'm sure Diva will still let you be in our CC bikini calendar! LOL

You will be in my prayers.

                                Dawn
