Every time I ever tried something with it in, my heart would race really fast, and I would feel totally breathless, nervous, anxious. I wouldn't touch it again if someone paid me. Being morbidly obese is already a strain on my heart, don't need to add fuel to the fire. But it might not do this to everyone...what do the Century Club Gurus have to say?

One of the things I have tried to stimulate faster weight loss with no bad side effects that I know of (unless you're allergic to soy) is Lecithin capsules. I take two with every meal.

Just the fact that there have been deaths associated with the taking of ephedra products is enough to keep me away from them. What's the point of getting thinner and healthier if I manage to kill myself to get there?

I have used Ephedra, along with a bunch of other diet pills, in the past with mixed results (10 pounds loss in 4 months woohoo!). I am sure the thermogenic effects were diluted by massive amounts of caffiene I was drinking at the time. I had none of the outward bad side effects, but then again I had very few of the benefits.
Right now, I just don't see the point of taking diet pills with my weight coming off at a pretty rapid clip. Over top of the safety issue, if elevated caffiene can mess with your blood glucose levels, how much more then could ephedra complicate the weight loss. Non-scientific answer, I know, but messing with your blood chemisty just to lose 5-7#'s/week rather 2-4#'s/week made no sense for me personally. Then of course is the temp fix side of the problem -- what is one's metabolism going to do once you get off the speed? It seems like a recipe to start yo-yoing again. I'd rather keep my weight loss without aides or assistance that eventually I'd have to give up.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

Well, I was on Xenadrine with ephedra off and on for a few years. I won't lie, it did help at the time because I had to work out early in the morning so it helped with energy and with my workouts. I never hurt myself but I took them by the directions and never more than I was susposed to. THAT BEING SAID. The most I had every weighed was between 150-155 and that was with NO exercise and eating whatever I wanted (when I was being bad). When I would do good and work out I would get down fairly easy. Well, I only stopped with the pills when they were taken off the market so it was a drastic stop. Changing nothing that I ate and going to the gym still about 3 days a week I went from 155-185 in about a month and a half after going off the pills. Point being, they did help WHILE I took them but they obviously messed with what was my regular metobolism and had I known then that I would be fighting my way back down from where I am instead of 150 I never would have taken them.

I tried them once a while back, they made me sick to my stomach and made my hands shake, I didn't lose any weight because of them either oh yea, I did lose sleep and get headaches as well. I'll never waste my money on them again! :no

Just curious, have you tried doing Atkins without any other diet aids and if so, how was it working?
I've been continuing to lose weight with Atkins with the only "boost" coming from CoQ10 and Chromium Pincolate, and I have a very slugglish metabolism. I don't lose weight all that fast, but I am still losing. No other diet (including pills) has ever done that for me.
I just worry about people that use such products and never really learn that Atkins can work for you, without any diet pills, etc. I've known a few people that add such things to allow them to cheat as well. Not saying this is the case with you, but I honestly believe Atkins can work, without having to spend extra money on medication.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

I took it when I first started and personally it helped me.
Okay now here is the weird thing yes I would take it again but no I do not reccommend it to anyone ever because I do feel it is dangerous how do I know? well my 25 year old nephew was taking it and drinking excessive amounts of Mount dew (he has always been very healthy) and he had what they decided was a mild heart attack, so basically you have to decide for your self if it is worth it or not
Wish I could tell you it was a miricule drug but it is not there are really risks involved and I advise you to take those risks seriously before you decide
