WOW that is an AWESOME start! Good for you! Keep it up and you'll be one of those "slim to medium" ladies in no time at all! :joy

walking and pool workouts are great exercise at any weight. Once you get yourself in a good aerobic fitness range then you will want to add ressitance workouts too as this will help burn fat and add lean muscle tissues which will assist you with more fat burning all day long.

It took me about 2 weeks of walking to be ready for beginging resistance training. I started my walking program at 313 and am still walking at goal.

the walk away the pounds are sort of a slow motion aerobic workout tape getting progressively harder as the miles increase, not a tape to listen too as you walk. there are some great sites out there with music tapes that can be set to your spped of walking/jogging/running. I have one for my cardio speed but haven't gotten aroung to getting one for my HIIt as that speed is constantly changing and I need to be focused on the controls so as not to miss a change.

well you have just met a former 312lb lass from the uk,in fact i was 312 when i joined ADBB last august but was at my highest weight of 362lbs when i origionally started Atkins back in march 2004 so i know exactly where your coming from.
I too go to the local pool where i felt like everyone was staring at me in the beginning...maybe it was that big sloppy long t-shirt i used to wear over my swimsuit at the time lol,but i find it more comfortable to go on the ladies only evenings now, they tend to be geared towards the older or not so slim ladies than the other public sessions attract.
I started out walking like a lot have mentioned, increasing my distance slowly,i got a treadmill and use it indoors if the weather is bad and later, i went out and bought a bike and go out 2-3 times a week for an hours ride with the kids....once you start to exercise, you'll be amazed how quickly your stamina increases and the energy you will have is what will encourage you to do that little bit more each time...i promise you.

congratulaions on making that start and having the commitment to continue.....you're on ya way girl !!!!!
