  • OK... Super gross question.. don't read if you are easily

wishy washy with the gross stuff. Personally I'm in the medical field and nothing much bothers me.... but just a huge warning to not read if bodily fluid mentions bother you.

OK. I restarted Atkins and Induction on Sunday. I've been doing it by the book, and as of this morning I have lost 4lbs (WHOHOO). My only concern is that I haven't had a solid bowel movement since. This is where it gets gross. I'm not talking like a little loose.. I'm talking that my poop ( for lack of a better word) is literally like water, and has been since Sunday. Has this every happened to anyone? And if it has, does it go away because frankly it sucks.

I do feel crappy and I know that has to be the Atkins flu, but before when I experienced that.. I never experienced this.

So sorry to be so graphic...but I was wondering if this was semi normal.. or if I should go see the doc.

    Thanks!!

I've seen so many "poop" threads on here over the last year it doesn't even bother me!
Anyway...Oh yeah, totally normal. I experienced this as well. Just make sure you drink all your water so you don't become dehydrated. And if it's any consolation, it shouldn't last much longer. If it does and you feel lethargic or very unwell then definately see a doctor. Before this WOL I became dehydrated once due to illness and it's very important to seek medical help right away. Although, I'm probably preaching to the choir considering what you do! I hope you feel better soon! :hug

Oh yes, totally normal. I'd give it another day or two and if it still continues, get some flax meal and make a couple cookies or crackers (see recipe section on ha )

Dont go overboard on the flax tho ... it could clog you up!

Actually I'm kind of glad to read your post this morning. I restarted induction on Monday and I'm having the exact same problem. Was getting a little worried, too. I'll wait another couple of days, then I think I'll try the flax as was previously suggested. Here's to a wonderful induction!! Best Wishes....

Ally....This is a problem I have had on and off since I started Atkins. At no time have I ever been constipated. It's always the other direction if you know what I mean...LOL.

:nod Same here. Never not once constipated in almost 2 years of Atkins! I think its all the fiber in the veggies and all the water I drink. :yes

you can use and solubkle fiber like psylium to assit you. it will soak up the fluid and slow down the transportation time allowing it to be more solid when you are runny and it will add bulk when you are constipated allowing you to contract your muscles and push it out.

Okay --- hahaha, equally gross response.

Before Atkins, I had major bathroom problems. Prolly like ... god maybe five bowel movements each day.

Now I have about 2. It is sooo nice. Soemtimes it's... ack... pasty? :: gags :: It is. Othertimes it's like all explosive again.

I dunno. but that's me. Either way it's a BIG improvement!
