  • Motivation and advice needed please!

    Hi Everyone,
I will be joining you all on this journey, if you don't mind! I too have been lurking around here for quite a while and thought It was time to come out of the shadows. I am going to need all the advice and motivation you can give me because even though I know I need to do this I also know that I am a complete carb addict. I kid you not! I'd have a potato sandwich back in the day for crying out loud!!! (Yes, I know... that sounds pathetic). :help !!! I am looking forward to becoming part of the gang. Hope to hear from you soon!!! Smooches! Tammy

From one carb addict to another... welcome and you can do this! If I can anyone can!

The one great thing about Atkins is although you are giving up simple carbs like sugar and white flour, the great foods you eat and the fact you don't starve makes this an incredible way of life. Not eating bread and othe carbs won't bother you a bit after you break your addictions.

        Welcome!

        Dawn

Glad you found our group. I was king of carb addicts last year prior to starting. About the only thing non-refined carb I ate was meat and Diet Dew. You can do this. Commit to yourself that for the next 14 days you are going to eat right according to this WOE. See for yourself what the hype is about. If you need any support, you have found the right place.

Well my new friends, I was pretty good today ! , My sons had a bbq for mothers day for me and I had salad and chicken breast, water with lemon, and for weightlifting... I held with my new grandson! He gave me my very first grandma card today!!! (he's 3 weeks old). But tonight I will walk 30 min on the treadmill. What things helped you guys over the rough spots?(I am fighting the urge to eat a piece of chocolate pie!!! My favorite!!! ), but I have decided not to have it, I just put a picture in my head of the thinner , healthy Tammy that I'd like to be. "Tomorrow is another day". ( I ripped that off from Scarlett O'Hara) Love to you all... Tammy

You are so right! The people here are very encouraging and much needed!!! I like the idea of the mini goals too! Maybe 10 pounds at a time... Yeah, that sounds pretty good! :nod . I personally think that it is helpful to talk to someone who's been there and done that, they understand!
