    Hi, ladies,

I am *still* in the rehab clinic and had a difficult couple of weeks. The operated hip is doing just fine, but the pain in and around the knees hasbeen part of the reason for the prolonged stay here. I had hoped much of it was referred pain and would go away when the hip got better, but it is even worse. My insurance refused to fully cover these last two weeks (I'll be here until May 2, so there has been financial stress to boot and I had the feeling that the doc here has more or less given up on me. If my physical therapists weren't so terrific, I would have gone home last week. I guess I have been setting up the stage to explain why I have not stuck to my Atkins WOL. The last time I weighed myself - I think three weeks ago (while I was still being good, but probably eating too much of the allowable - I was 152. That was up from 146. I was so discouraged that I started skipping breakfast, eating fruit and even cake. My stomach got bigger daily and I felt even more miserable. OK. Now I have gotten back to eggs, meat, fish, poultry, leafy greens, tomato, cucumber, olive oil, vinegar, a few tablespoons of light cream a day - and that's it. I am also able to increase my exercise. Yesterday I walked about an hour and a half with Leki walking sticks (about 4-4.5 km) and today I swam (crawled) a good hour - about 1500 meters and biked (ergometer ) 15 minutes at 65 watt. I will weigh myself on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Looks like your rehab is going well with all the workouts you are getting in.
