  • I'm Traveling to the UK in April - Help!

    Hello!

    I'm traveling from the US to the UK in March/April this year and I'd love to get some Atkins pointers for visiting there. I starting Induction 15 days ago and I want to stay on track while I visit, but am not sure about Atkins-Friendly restaurants and such...Please, any help would be very much appreciated! I'm going to be in London, Edinburgh and Amsterdam on vacation and want to stay on track (well, as best I can, I'll have to probably indulge in a pasty & some fish-n-chips).

    I'm looking forward to hearing from all the EuroAtkiners out there!
    :O)

    Elle.

    A number of cafes and restaurants will cater for your needs. And instead of fish and chips, you can always order a kebab and throw the pitta bread away.

    However there arent many shops at the moment selling Atkins bars and shakes. The only place I have found is a BOOTS (Chemist / pharmacy)

    I hope you enjoy your trip

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Yeah, don't worry about fish n chips, it's all about murderin a Ruby after the rub a dubs shut!
      Translation:: Eating a curry after the pubs close.

      You should have no problem.
      Indian - order sag paneer/ spinach and cheese
      Kebab - throw away the pita (as mentioned)
      Greasy burger - throw away the bun
      Steaks - plenty around, they'll always come with new potatoes/fries ask for a salad or more veg, i.e. cauliflorets, broccoli,
      Eggs - we have chickens!
      cheese - we have that too.
      Veg - yep, this too but you'll need to translate.........

      e.g. Aubergine = Egg plant
      Courgette = Zuchinni (sp?)
      Swede = Rutabaga
      Spring Onions = Salad onions or Green onions
      Leek - an even bigger version of a green onion!
      Pork Scratchins = Pork Cracklin

      I hope that helps!
      Peace~
