Hi! I'm headed back to Aus in a week and a half and so excited to see those amazing hamburgers again. But, what else can I eat as a non-cooking tourist?

In answer to your question, pretty much the same as what you would eat if you were visiting a city in your own country you are visiting - except you would be in Australia.

Just in case anyone really needs to know, or even any of you dont know already as I have mentioned it once or twice already!

Do you mean that the food is similiar to what is available in Thailand?Originally posted by PrincessRicht, you will love this country. You won't want to go home.
And once you do get here, you will see why I think thaioneon's question about what to eat down here is so ridiculous.

I certainly don't live in such a country so I am also curious to know what an Atkins friendly meal would be in Australia. I should think that you would be dying to wax lyrical on the glories of your food.
To answer thaione, I asked a similar question and got this answer:
Feisty:
Food in Australia is MASSIVELY varied. Especially where I live here in Sydney..... We're a hugely cosmpolitan city, and our tastes in food and eating habits really reflect this.
Thai food is very popular when going out to dinner - it's fabulously communal and makes the whole dining experience a bit less formal but still really yummy!
People like me, who are really into fresh healthy stuff, cook Thai for themselves at home - copying dishes from restaurants or cookbooks or magazines.
Of course, barbecues!
And turkish kebabs for those hungover days..... or the 3am desperate search for grease during a big night on the town. Haaha. There are kebab shops that only open from 9pm to 5am in the city.
I also asked about Christmas menus, unfortunately that post is gone but I do remember the person talking about delicious barbequed meats.

Thanks for your post Sharni. I was considering contacting Feisty herself to get the answers intergrated into this thread to stop any "bad feeling" that could have been brewing.
Thanks

oh cool you're heading off to queensland. I haven't even been to queensland. It seems people always head over to queensland or sydney but never perth (the most isolated city in the world) :sadblinky*******************
