Re: Philippines
so...
i'm heading back to the phils this september, after almost 11 years together it's time for my wife to meet my mother's side of the family. i'm currently working through the rungs but i have to admit, the thought of even trying to get through 1 month of limits is a difficult one. and my wife loves jolibee and would eat there every day if she had the chance.
reading what's come before i don't see a lot of options available, even less than here in nz so actively sticking to a low carb lifestyle when i go and saying no to ensaymada?? i doubt i have even that much willpower. yes, i gave up chocolate, mochacinos and muffins and all the candy and potato chips i used to enjoy before i started but going back and saying no to everything while on holiday is daunting. and only the last week will be in manila so i'm guessing even less low carb options in the provinces.
so exactly how much sugar is added to tocino and longanisa? i suppose living on crispy sisig, lechon and kinilaw wouldn't be terribly bad...
it's a pity the old joke isn't true, where the diet in a diet coke cancels out the chocolate in a candy bar
