  • fitday carbs

    Hi.
    I've been using fitday to log my food for a couple of weeks now and i'm getting a little confused with the carbs.

    if I enter tomatoes using the usa measurements i get
    4 small toms = 17 carbs
    but if i enter them using the UK ingredients that come on the packs i get
    4 toms = 201g = 6 carbs

    and the same happens with avocados
    USA 1/2 = 6 carbs
    UK = 77g = 1 carb

    so i'm either having too many carbs the USA way or not enough carbs the UK way. which should I be using.
    Would be very grateful if someone could put me right on this.

    Thanks Denise

    neither is right nor wrong
    77g of avocado is 2.716 ounces of avodao not 1/2 cup and 2.716 ounces is 1.36 net carbs on fitday. with the rounding laws it would say 1 on the package. You need to compare the same amount of the foods to be fair. Use either system you want but be consistant when you do. if you use the lables then use the labels for all foods. if you use FITDAY then use fitday for all foods.

      thank 2big4mysize.

      am i ok using just my custom foods on fitday by using UK labels so long as i don't use any of the "USA" foods. will i still get the correct percentages and carbs etc? At the moment i only seem to be using the USA part for eggs.

      by the way you look fantastic in your photo.

        thanks. as long as you input the correct amount of food for each serving size with your custon food then it should be okay.
