I have an idea! :conehead What if we do a "Walk Around the World Challenge" . Since everyone is from differant places, that would include everyone, and we could add all our miles (or equivilant with whatever exercise you do) and see how long it takes us to "walk around the world" . I figure from LA around and back to LA is 16,396 mi. We could do that, couldn't we? What do ya all think? We could do a sticky, and every time someone exercises, we could add it up. If we got pedometers, we could even count all our steps throughout the day. Just a thought. :nod

I think that is a great idea Maribelle! We can see who else wants to do it....then I have to get a pedometer or figure some way to track.

You know...that always happens to me! Just when I think I had an original brainstorm, I find someone beat me to it! I remember the day I discovered cream cheese tasted good on ritz crackers! I felt like Columbus spotting land, then bam! I found out people have always done it.... :sarcasm One of these days I'll discover something new!

People in the Century Club have been talking about this Couch to 5K exercise program. I think I'll be trying that starting today or tomorrow.

that is a great program too and you will not believe it but folk in the 200 pound range actually got in shape to recreationally run 5K in under 40 min! I can walk it using thosae technics learned from C@%K in just over 30 you will be shocked at how fast your distance and time pick up if you just commit yourself and make yourself do it!.

                  Happy low carbing.

I can certainly vouch for the fact that 2Big *does* know how to crack the whip on exercising! :whip Sometimes that "prod" is all we need, eh?

I would do better if it weren't for my dern hip. Exercise aggravates it. But I still exercise as much as I feel I can. Does anyone know what to do for bursitis in the hip? I'll help walk around the world :nod

I joined Curves with my Mom. We go 3 times a week and keep each other on track. 5 days a week I walk 2-3 miles with the Hubby.

Debbie, would water aerobics help with the hip?

Sarah, it probably would. I will check on those when I get to the gym. I'm not sure they start late enough for me to go. Although me in a bathing suit :nono LOL

I'll check it out. You mentioned that before and I forgot! I appreciate the suggestion! :yes

I am committed to exercising for at least 1/2 hour per day. On Monday, I did the eliptical trainer for 20 minutes and 15 minutes of weight training.

Yesterday I took a 1/2 hour walk at the beach.

I'm about to go work out now, and we are going back to the beach this afternoon, so I hope to walk then, too - maybe not for 1/2 hour, but something!

What I find is that I cannot fulfil a commitment to do a certain KIND of exercise every day, because with 4 kids, things get out of control very quickly! But I can always find 1/2 hour for SOMETHING!

I really want to get a pedometer. I have read that walking 5,000 steps a day is 2 miles, and I'd like to see where I am. 5,000 steps a day is recommended, and I'd like to get that going regularly.
