  • willpower for the 2nd time around

hey everyone, i was just wondering how everyone gets the willpower and strength to start over again on atkins. I did low carb all last summer and through the fall...but then i messed up and am just now starting over.

anyways, i feels like all my previous work was for nothing since i gained almost all the weight back. it seems like it is also harder to get back into the low carb lifestyle this time around. any advice??

This time I reinducted for just two days until I was back in ketosis. Then I went right back to the owl rung that I'd made it to before. I continued up the carb ladder. I must say that I have zero will power and the variety of foods on OWL keeps me really satisfied. I'm losing weight fast enough (down about one size in 21 days). Not as fast as the first time around, but I'm more concerned with being successful in the end than losing fast. :icondance

      Hey Checkers

You have a good attitude about this WOE. I am losing my weight slowly but surely and losing it fast is not a priority. Making sure I keep in tune with this WOE IS a priority for the long term for the rest of my life.

      Good attitude! :nod :joy

Just psyche yourself up for it! Its hard to get going again, yes, but if you just keep going, come on here everyday and be honest about your struggles, pretty soon you'll feel like you're doing this with old friends, and you don't want to let them or yourself down. I've met some very wonderful people here, and they've been here for the long haul too! Jump in, the waters fine!

I'm just tired of the way I feel. Its seems like I have no other choice right now if I want to feel better, but to continue on with this WOE and tweak it to fit my needs, as Checkers mentioned above.

I still have bad days and I certainly have not been "cheat free", but I am taking baby steps, working on this woe, working on exercise and working on getting that water in. Just try not to get discouraged if you mess up. Just climb back on the wagon and keep going. I know that for me, this has to be a life change, not a quick fix.

Hope that helps and wishing you the best........ :wave
