I was off almost a year. I haven't noticed much difference in my loss from last time... and I freaking gained it all back plus a little more! I'm almost to the point of where I left off before. Anything after 222 or 223 will be brand new loss for me

      Welcome Cass!

I'm finding this time to be a lot harder. The weight is coming off slower, but more because I'm having a difficult time staying true to the diet.

      Wish you the best!

        Hello Cassandra!!

It was definitely harder for me to get back on the wagon this time! But now that I have started I don't find it any harder than last time and I'm still losing at about the same rate that I did before.

          Much harder

The reason it is going to be harder for most people, is because you have been spoiled from the first go around. Atkins works faster than any other form of diet I have ever encountered, the first time you try it, you expect that you will have similar results and letdowns that are associated with all of the other fad diets you have tried in the past. In the first go around, you are simply astonished that in 14 days of induction, you have lost around 15-20 pounds without exercise or starving yourself, you have never seen anything like it and each additional week is like Christmas; full of delightful suprises.

Well, now that it is your second time around, you know just how easy it was for you the first time. You know that you can cheat and make it up if you just only have one bite. You know ect, ect, ect ,ect............ The problem this time is that there is no mystery, no suprise, no Christmas every week because you already know/predict exactly how everything will happen.

Very true Ernesto. I had never thought of it along those lines.

I've been off since last August, after losing 40 lbs. I had a car accident and couldn't get back on track until yesterday. I tried 3 times on my own between December 2004 and May 2005, to no avail - just couldn't keep it up. I think the main reason was that I wasn't hanging out on this board anymore, so I'm BACK!

              Started Again 6/20/05
              218/218/140
I worked out yesterday and will again today
No weighing for 2 weeks, by gosh by golly, no matter how tempting!

REMEMBER: it's inches that count, not pounds!
              Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
              218/187/140
              Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

I was on Atkins in 2000. I lost 37 pounds in 6 weeks. I tried at least 5 times to get back on plan since then and never made it through the third day. In April I finally made it through those horrible first 3 days. I am 5 years older now and I'm sure that is why I am losing slower. I have lost 23 pounds in 8 weeks. I am excercising this time. I didn't last time. All this tells me is that I need to stay on this WOE, because the older I get the harder it is going to be to lose.

I was down to 175 in 2007 and I will get back there again!
