  • How is Tuesday going?

Doing good for me as to Atkins and exercise. I did my walk through the neighbord last night. Made myself due a full thirty minutes. Today I'm not feeling as hungry. Still very aware of food and its in the front of my mind, but I determined to kick it back.

Bad thing today though, someone got into my car (doors were unlocked, shame on me) and took everything out of my glove box and center console and put it on the seats of the car. They didn't actually take anything from the car though. Weird, huh? There was cash in the car, CD's, etc. But everything is still there. I live in a nice neighborhood, never had trouble before. DH thinks someone was trying to find a garage door opener to get into our house :no Has me a little nervous and on edge today. After DH left for work this morning, the dog was outside and barking like crazy. I'm beginning to think maybe someone attempted to get in after 7am!!!! I think from now on I will have the dog inside with me and my son after DH leaves for work. At least a little more protection until I leave for work.

Hope everyone else's day is going better.

    A lot better.

It is my 9th day, I'm heavily into ketosis (dark purple on the ketostix), and I've lost 15 pounds so far. I haven't gone back to the gym yet, don't plan on doing so until I know I won't feel sick from it either. My cravings are almost entirely gone, but it has been literally physically painful to get to this stage. I'm just now starting to get that feeling back, the one where this diet almost becomes a game for me.

Ernesto - Great job hanging with it! What a great loss!! Keep up the good work. With regard to the exercise, maybe you could start adding it back in slowly? A short walk a few times a week until you feel comfortable and then just keep adding more until you are ready to hit the gym. Keep up the great work! :wave

I eventually will. I love lifting heavy weights, but find that in the early stages of this diet, you can get a little dizzy. The last time I did Atkins, I waited about a month and a half before I really got started with the exercise. I'm shooting for the beginning of July.

          Sarah,
sorry to hear about the break-in! I'm glad they didn't get anything too important, but I'm sure you still feel kinda freaked out by it, I know I would. I'll be thinking about you.

How many days on induction are you? My appetite really disappeared afer about day 4, but eating anything sweet brings back some sugar cravings, especially at night. I think I got used to snacking after having fed the baby late at night and my mind still wants that routine.

          Ernesto,
I found the same thing about exercise, my heart pounds a little too hard when I first get into induction. I can usually tell without ketostix that I'm in ketosis 'cause I start feeling dizzy and I just feel different. I breathe a little harder too. Weird, i'm not sure why that is.

I haven't done very good on my exercise but I would like to start back. I wish I could join the gym because I love weight-training too. I get really bored on treadmill but using weights keeps me motivated.

You are doing really great! I know you've had a hard time but It's pretty much downhill from here. Everything gets a little easier. We're all really proud that you've stuck to it! :icondance

Hi Erica, thanks for the good thoughts. I actually thought I would be okay about it, but the more I think about the more my imagination runs wild and I start to worry. So still feeling anxious about it, but I'm sure it will be fine.

With regard to induction, I am through induction and doing a modified version of OWL (basically, just added in some low carb yogurt once a day and 1/4 cup strawberries. I'll let you know how it works out.

Ernesto, definitely good to go at the pace your body needs. Hang with it and keep up the great job. You really did have a wonderful loss!

I'm doing good today. It hasn't been hard yet becuase I haven't left the house yet. So, I am leaving to take my sister on some errands, so I am eating here first so that way I am not tempted.

I'm glad this forum is here, it really helps!

Doing great. Not sure if I would classify it as a 'cheat', but I went to the grain rung 5 days early. I bought some whole wheat tortillas (3 net carbs each) and I probably shouldn't have bought them until I was supposed to start that rung. But I had them here and nachos sounded sooo good. So I cut up my tortilla and deep fried some chips. They were actually so much lighter and crispier than regular tortilla chips. I topped them with cheese and had some other atkins safe toppings. It was super yummy. The whole meal ended at 10 carbs and was still in ketosis last night and this morning.

Checkers - that sounds awesome! I will hereby admit that I too have purchased the wheat tortillas with 3 grams of carbs each. I actually had one today with scrambled egg, salsa and shredded cheddar cheese. It usually does not stall me though. Hope that continues this time around :yikes

Damn It must be that full moon comin up, our vehicle was broken into last night too, shouldn't say broken into as dummy hubby forgot to lock it. Had a new cell phone stolen, a boom box that was in the back, and some breath strips. Imagine! Can't find out if the thief went hog wild on long distance calls yet either. Time to go to bed and stay there methinks.

Today is going pretty well. It's my last day of induction then i'll be moving on to OWL. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well and making progress. :joy

Sarah and Starmaker I'm sorry to hear that people broke into your cars. Some people in this world have no respect for other's property. What a :censor shame. I know your both probably a bit shaken up.

Sarah how was your weekend up north? I hope everything went well.

I had another one of my totillas today and it gave me a headache. I actually got a headache yesterday after my dinner but didn't connect the two. I guess no more tortillas for me. :anger I'll wait a few days and try my flax bread or wasa crackers.

Starmaker, I know what you mean. I was the fool that left the car doors unlocked this time (I never do that). Luckily, nothing was stolen - this part still confuses me :confused . Its weird knowing that someone was touching and going through my personal things. I'm so nervous at home - worried someone is going to try to get in the house :no

Msnicole, congrats on making through induction! Do you feel a big difference yet? Up north was awesome! A little on the chilly side, but my brave little boy (19 months) still wanted to play in the water and did. It was relaxing. How about those Pistons?

Sarah, I'm starting to feel a little more energetic now. At first I didn't have any energy. I do feel a difference in the way my clothes fit. Oh and I am a diehard Pistons fan so I am definitely excited about the win last night! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip up north!
