I read the original post, and thought, "No, wait, that is me!!!!!".

I am restarting low carb this week. So far I am doing OK. I came back to this site last night. I found the new Coke Zero and I love it. I know, aspartame, but I don't care for diet coke, although the one with Splenda tastes better that regular diet to me. We did Atkin-like 2 times previously, but I got anemic (imagine that, with all the meat choices, but I have not been a big meat eater, but I have always loved dried beans and I guess I ate enough of that and rice and pasta to cover my iron) and my husband has gout, so we stopped. We are trying it again, and so far, even though it is only day three, I am ok.

We never did stop using liquid Splenda in our tea though, and before that after low carb try #1 we used equal. I must say that I love the splenda the best. Don't know if I can still get it though.

I looked at the reciped site for Linda, and I must say I love her. Hers has got to be the best one that I have seen. Love the photos. Plus easy ingredients.

Went to Wal Mart today to shop, and I must say they have drastically cut out their low carb choices. They never did carry soy or almond flour.

I work at a hospital, so you would think that I would have no problem with low carb for lunch in the cafeteria, but wrong. Most of the "vegetables" are not. Unless I want to have a salad everyday, and I don't cause I will burn out quick, I am going to have to come up with some quick lunch ideas. Linda's site will help me in that area, as I can always cook a little extra for supper. Also, her recipes did not seem to take too long, and by the time I get home at 5PM I definetely do not want to spend 1 - 2 hours cooking.

Re: Help out an obsessive weigher...

I weigh once a day in the morning. But I do agree that the weight fluctuations [gaining a few or not loosing at all] is VERY discouraging. I gained 4 lbs since yesterday because of water retention [I ate a lot of beef broth soup last night made with high-sodium beef bouillions] so I am retaining water big time right now. I am not going to weigh myself until tomorrow morning to see if the water weight went away or not, and after that I will only weigh twice a week. That should be about right not to drive me completely crazy!

me, too. Last time I weighed constantly... this time I'm going to every 2 weeks. I, too, am also addicted to measuring. I think it does something to fill the times I'd usu. be eating candy.

Re: Help out an obsessive weigher...

i say keep a journal of what youre eating and how much youre exercising, you also need to remember that our weight varies day to day , sometimes by as much as 5lbs (ive seen this happen on my own scale) , back to the journal , once you weigh yourself , (i suggest once a week for 2 weeks , then switch to every 2 weeks) , go over what you ate , and see if any might be either GOOD for your woe , or BAD for your woe , dont let the scale be your only dictator also , take out the tape measure too

good luck with the obsessing , i know i kicked my habit , i used to weigh myself sometimes 3 times a day , as if id see any change , (laughs)
