  • Just curious on supplements

What do you all take for supplements?

I take one standard multivitamin without iron every day as well as:
    1000 mg Vitamin C
    Calcium/Magnesium/zinc (1000mg cal/400mg magn/15mg zinc)
    1 B complex
    Glucosamine (for arthritis)
Chromium Picolonate 800 mg (I do see a difference in helping carb cravings taking this)

      LOL

I am not good at taking my meds or supplements. It is a huge issue for me to remember every day for some reason. Have to work at it. Omega 3 fatty acids? I thought about adding those in but a person can only take so many pills a day.

I have not given up my coffee this time. It doesnt seem to be making me crave so time will tell. If I see a problem Ill switch back to decaf or give it up. But boy I dont want to unless I have to.

I take Atkins Basic 3, Essential Oils and a calcium, zinc and magnesium supplement for leg cramps when I get them.

I've heard Basic 3 is going away though, so if that's true I'll probably switch to Centrum Silver. Right now I have a 4 month supply of Basic 3 from eBay, they were cheap since they expire in Sept. I'll be using the last bottle Sept so that purchse worked out well

Chromium Picolonate for curbing carb cravings? Have you tried L-glutamine? I'm wondering which is better so I can curb carb cravings and get back on track. I'm waiting on my VitaNutrients book from Amazon as we type.

I take a multi, COQ10, chromium picolinate, selenium, CLA, calcium and lglutamine. I HATE taking pills. :raving

Incidentally, I compared my Centrum complete to my kids sugar free superhero vitamins, and they are almost exactly the same. Everything but one vitamin is exact. ARGH. Theirs taste much better than swallwoing my horse pill feels.

The Chromium works for me so I have never tried the L-glutamine. I take one in the morning ( 9ish) and one with lunch (which for me is mid afternoon). I see the difference in my cravings at night if I skip that second dose.

I hate taking pills, especially a half dozen or so at a whack.

Chromium Picolinate helps stabilize blood sugars, so that in itself helps reduce cravings.

Several years back, I tried Citrimax, which is Chromium Picolinate and Garcinia Cambogia (helps reduce appetite). Within a few days, I noticed my appetite was waaaaay down and no blood sugar ups and downs.

Oil of oregano, btw, is said to be a mild antibiotic and also protects against candida/yeast.

That is good to know finelly. I suspected a few years ago on my first try on Atkins and after losing about 40# I began to suspect a yeast problem. Im watching for that again.

Terry, there is a forum that addresses Candida. There are a lot of people with that problem. It is full of solutions on how to get rid of it. :yes
