  • Thursday and what is everyone doing today?

Anybody have any special plans for the day? Enjoying the summer weather? It has been so humid here lately. The air here has cooled a bit overnight finally and we are headed poolside for the day. Planned a nice salad for lunch and lots of water to drink. I feel so much better and have the energy to match after almost 2 weeks of being back on plan. Why it took me so long to get my groove back I dont know and I also know there are plenty of slippery slopes to come to but I have a different perspective this time around. More relaxed? Im not sure that is what it is but it feels good.

Do you feel any different starting over this time?

Darn it! I started a Thursday post not seeing yours! Sorry!

I'm going to the beach today. And working out. I feel so lucky to be a teacher who doens't have to work in the summer!

I also have to go to the grocery store. To my utter amazement, I went thru a giant bag of raw spinach in about 3 days. Who knew that it only had 6 cups of leaves in it? It looked SO big!
        Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

i too am at work. but i am happy to be alive and to have a job to go to.

as for your question.. do i feel different. yes. i feel like i have no worries. i read the atkins book quite a bit. it gives me the desire to want to stick to the WOL. although i have failed in the past, my mind set feels different this time. it's like i know i won't cheat. i know that this is it. it's strange. i have never felt this sure before. i say to myself, you know what you have to do. you have overcome many obstacles.. this is nothing. you hate chemicals having control of you, so why let something as simple as food control you. i really do feel this way. i don't really have any cravings or anything. i won't lie and say i don't think about a beer from time to time. but even that passes.

anyway, that's just how i have been feeling. very positive this time around. i normally am not that much of a positive person. i just feel good.

As I near the two-week mark, I'm thinking about what I want to incorporate into my renewed way of living. I'd like to:

              1. Add swimming for 15 minutes to my 30-minute cardio. Probably need to build up to it. I only do the breaststroke, but it's a great way to stretch after weight training.

              2. Start stretching maybe 10 min. every other day.

Anyone have any other ideas? I'm going to pick 2 things to do, since for the first two weeks I committed to taking supplements and getting 30 min cardio minimum per day, and I've got those down as solid habits now.

Magenta, i feel like that this time as well. I think i am not making a big deal of it this time... i used to announce every pound lost to everyone i knew. And now i just keep it to myself. I also used to plan out when i would be able to cheat... like... "Well, my birthday is coming up, so i'll do Atkins until that day, and then the day after i'll start again." Which of course is the downfall. Now i just know it is a new way of life for me, and i am okay with that.

Plus, i found all of you wonderful souls. . . and now i have a new fabulous group of friends who understand me and what i am going through. So thanks to you all!!! :hug

i feel you sister!! :yes see, anything is possible. like the book says. relax. enjoy this WOL and take it all in stride. at least that is how i interpret it. my dad would always tell me, you didn't put the weight on overnight, don't expect to take it off overnight. so i am just trying to relax and for once, have complete control over myself, instead of letting other things control me.
