  • Happy Thursday!

    I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee reading all of the posts and feeling SOOOOOOO moved that we are all so supportive of each other. This place is sometimes like an oasis where I can come and get refreshed. I have very supportive family and friends, but they aren't on Atkins, and somehow having buddies who are doing the same as I is important.

    Today is Day Eleven for me. I forgot to check in on exercise yesterday, so I'll tell you that I did 1/2 hour of cardio and lower body weight training.

    Today my daughter and I are going to the beach and I will get in that extra 30-minute walk. For some reason, I can't bring myself to just walk in my neighborhood in the evenings, but at the beach I am always willing to walk! Go figure! Maybe one of you should buy me a house ON the beach! Yeah! That's the ticket! SHOW ME YOUR SUPPORT! Buy me a house!!!!!!!!!! lolol

    Something interesting is happening to me: as I keep going without once touching the scale, I am less and less interested in how much I weigh and I also am not particularly wanting to weigh myself on day 14. Or day 30! I find myself thinking: look, I'm in ketosis, I know that ketosis causes me to lose weight, I know that it can be slow or fast, weighing won't make it go faster, and I should concentrate on other things. (to be fair, I also find myself, in my more neurotic moments, thinking, look, I don't want to know. I'm covering my eyes. I have my fingers in my ears and I'm saying nananana so you can't make me listen!)

    I'm trying to think of things to keep me busy tomorrow and away from the computer as much as possible so I won't be going nuts not being able to get on the board. So far I have:

    1. manicure - need fills
    2. workout
    3. shave the cats
    4. Wax the condo parking lot
    5. Go to a bookstore - I can spend hours at Borders!

    My husband says that numbers 3 and 4 are probably a little unrealistic. Any more ideas?

    Happy Thursday to you!!! This really is a great board isn't it? Everyone is so supportive and encouraging and just quite simply there for you. I will definitely miss the board tomorrow while at work. But, I have family coming from out of town tomorrow evening, so expect to be fairly busy over the weekend. Hopefully that will help with my ADBB withdrawals.

    Maybe you could add shopping for some new skinny clothes? Or a fun summer beach hat?

      Honestly, being only on day eleven, i'm no different in size lol. And I hate this size, so I don't want to own any more clothes in it!

      But SHOES.......now SHOES I can always buy!

          Just a tip from an ignorant guy. But don't buy too many shoes. As you lose the weight, your feet will shrink. Many people here have reported this phenomenon, myself included.

            Thank God! I haven't been able to fit into my 7s since i had the baby and i have such a collection... i would hate to see them go...

              Oooh, shoes. Good idea! It is sandle season after all. I love wearing sandles and painting my toenails.

                The only thing that changed my shoe size was pregnancy. After four kids, I'd gone from a size 7.5 to a size 9. I was skinny as a rail. They are still size 9, thank goodness, and it's 11 years since I last had a baby!

                  Walked right out of a pair of clogs at around a 30# loss when I first lost weight. I managed to lose a whole shoe size and although I have gained half of my lost weight back, I have managed to keep the smaller shoe size. I gave many pair of shoes to goodwill because of it. :anger

                  But as long as I am a loser. I am happy!
