  • Getting inundated by email notification?

Go to User CP at the top of the screen.

    Click on it

Click on "edit options" on the left side, top box

Scroll down to where it says "email notifications". Click on the menu thingy there. Change it to "no subscriptions".

Apparently, we are automatically subscribed to whatever threads we post on, so we will get sent scads of email notifications if we post regularly! This will stop.

Terry, it seems to have worked for me. Did you remember to click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page?

              Yep.............. saved em

I am guessing I am only getting notifications from previous to making this change so maybe when these posts are no longer being added to I will stop getting the messages.

If you click on the 'Quick links' button on the top row and then on 'Subscribed threads' you can cancel the ones already set up.

Re: Getting inundated by email notification?

I ask about this in the topic Jackie set up for board trouble and 3 things are going on. First you can go to the GO advanced button to post your reply and check the don't subscribe button for that post if you don't want mail from it.

Next if you change your settings they only change for the next time you log in but don't change retroactive to your previous posts so you will need to go to your subscribed list in your USER CP and change each one of those or you will still be getting the messages based on your instant notification setting from the board default setting before you changed. Once you change those topics you will stop getting the emails.

Last you have to log out for at leasat 15 min for the changes to be activated.

Hope that helps. I know my email box was running over this morning too.

Re: Getting inundated by email notification?

I did the quick link thing and had already set it up for "no email subscriptions" so changed that to "do not subscribe".

Thank you Elizellen for showing me how to delete the current threads that had been subscribed.

I dont actually log out, but click off because I have this set up to remember my password so will actually log out after this session in a few minutes and hopefully all will be well again. Thank you 2big.
