  • Check my BMR Please

    Can someone look at my BMR From Fitday and tell me what the minimum calories per day that I should be eating? I am not doing strict atkins, but low carb, so I know there are some non-induction items in the food list.

    Fiber does not show up in the public report. I have had 22 fiber today.

      Your basal is 1620. It can be located by looking at the "Calories burned" section. The number next to "basal" is the number you are looking for!

      You don't have to hit that number exactly. You're slightly above, and that's fine. I'd say it's probably safe to go up to 200 calories over, no more than 100 calories under.

      If I were you, I'd ditch those carb bars and low fat tortilla chips. Notice how many carbs they contain? WHEW!

        Yes, I know they are more, but I still managed to stay at 20 today with them. THanks for the help.

          The BMRs are a general one for all folk your height and weight and it doesn't know if you are a fluffy person or a rock hard muscular person. The caloric needs for each will be different. If you know your lean body tissue mass you can use the Katch McArdle formula for getting a more accurate BMR.

          just remember those bars are not actually net carbs, they are the magical mythical counting noncounting net effective carbs that stall out many low carbers when consumed on a regular bases and if you saw Dr Atkins on his last TV interview on the Larry King show in Dec 2003 he made the distinction that those produces were not for the weight loss part of his program.
