  • Another good way to avoid temptation...

Now, remember that I have a sore back but.................

When you are tempted to cheat or give up...............

Go and do something that you are having some difficulty with because of your weight.

I get bursitis in my knee when I reach a certain weight and have reached it. Again. (second reason I came back to Atkins, first being as I have mentioned several times, my jeans dont fit anymore)

All I need to do is go downstairs to my basement and back up again. THAT immediately reminds me that I CAN'T give in. Real progress will be when I can zip up and down without cursing myself when my knee wont work properly............... and for allowing myself to gain the weight back.

Sometimes when I am tempted by something, like say if someone at work has something I may want and they offer a bite, I just say ahh, maybe later. By the time you think of it again it is probably gone and the craving will be also- then you can be so proud of yourself for not giving in! tricks my mind to think maybe I am getting it? I don't know- silly but it works for me
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

Oh wow you know what I just remembered? Before I went on Atkins back in 1993 one problem I had was unexplained right knee pain. I had it for many months, and the doctors couldn't find anything wrong. The MRI was negative as well. The pain was really bad.

Three days on Atkins, and the pain was gone! Can you believe that?

Bill - it would have been TWO days if you'd worn the bleeping tutu.

My story is that within 48 hours of starting this woe, I stop needing to take prilosec and have absolutely no symptoms of hiatal hernia and gastric reflux. Which is wild, given that the standard recommended diet for someone with this is low fat, high carb! lololol.

Re: Another good way to avoid temptation...

Bill, bursitis is a real bummer. It went away the first time was on Atkins pretty quick. Naturally it came back when I went off and now being back on ............... No more bursitis. And that my tutuless friend is a VERY good thing!

Natasha.... My daugher is going to burn me a CD for my outdoor walks with all those songs on it. They do get your energy level up dont they? And I guess to watch the videos of their skinny little butts would have to be some kind of incentive too. Oh to be naturally built like that! Garhhhhhhhhhhhhh It just aint fair!

Finelly.......... Same here. Not a Tum purchased by yours truely since re-inducting! What a blessing!
