  • It's Saturday!

    Good morning, all! I woke up at the hour of 5 because the cats decided it was a wonderful time to use me as a trampoline. (I decided it was a great time to play "kitty frisbee", but they kept coming back, so I got up anyway)

    I'm feeling so good. I am sleeping very deeply - for two nights now, I wake up in the same position I fell asleep in, which is unusual! I have a very positive outlook, and after the one pre-TOM glitch the other day, no mood swings. I'm extremely proud of myself for sticking to my exercise commitment and VERY proud that yesterday I put in 1 hour and 10 min of cardio! No soreness today.

    The one thing I need to work on is drinking my water. In the last two days, I've not been as dilligent about drinking my water, and my fingers are puffy today....I am clearly starting to retain water, which, in the middle of TOM particularly, is not a good thing! So today my commitment is to get back up to 130 fluid oz of water.

    Good Morning!

    I sleep better when I am exercising enough and eating right. I am also noticing that I am not having the night sweats that I was having since I re-inducted. They were horrible and I would be drenched every night. THAT is a blessing I tell ya!!

    I am getting around a bit better today. No quick movements or lifting but I am seeing improvment each day now. Yay! So exercise is still gently walking a bit each day and trying to get those muscles to keep from stiffening up.

    I did take a few measurements yesterday in my chest and waist area and did see a difference so at the end of the month I think I will take a full set of measurements to see how far I have made it. I am also feeling a difference in my clothes. My bras are (as usual) the first sign. Not so much cup size as in band size.

    Good to see progress.

    I do have to confess that I had strawberries last night. More than I should have and woke up wanting MORE this morning but they are off limits. We had FIL over for dinner and I made him strawberry shortcake. Made whipped cream with splenda and indulged in the berries. High fat and protein today to knock that craving back down for me today.

      Well, today I am battling myself. Going out for date night with DH, which we rarely do. And we are going to dinner. He doesn't really want to go to TGI Fridays and I feel so tempted to cheat, with the reasoning that we never ever get to go out to each and enjoy each other. So, today I'm battling that reasoning with - I'm doing so well, dropping weight again, why screw it up, I will be able to find something carb friendly to eat. So the devil and the angel are on my shoulders today.

      Otherwise feeling good. Had some eggs and sausage for breakfast. Saving my veggie carbs for dinner.

        Terry, glad you are feeling better and lost some inches!!!! And with regard to the strawberries, I think you will be fine. You have made it to the very important next step, which is immediatley getting back on track!!! And man, that sounds like a pretty yummy treat.

          Sarah - where does DH want to go for dinner?
          ANd Terry - those night sweats are hideous....I used to get them when I ate way too much sugar (which means, almost every night!)

              Oh................. Lord................. they were like eating sugar!

              But, no more!!

              Wondered if they knocked me out of ketosis and I am out of strips. Not important enough to make a run to the store to get more as I am not falling off the wagon. Just looking at it like I had a special treat and its not changing my woe.

              Have fun on date nite and I understand that TGI Fridays has plenty to choose from to make eating low carb easy. I heard there is a spinach dip there to die for that is low carb.

              Flick that devil on your shoulder off with a good slap of low carb food! And raise your (water filled) glass to your successful dinner!!

                Famous Dave's has a website with their menu (www.famousdaves.com)

                You might want to check it out so you know in advance what you could order. Looks like perhaps the green beans with bacon is good for the side orders. There's char broiled chicken and a few other things without sauces (bbq sauce tends to have sugars) that you could choose from. And good salads.

                  Thanks Finelly! I'll check it out. Hopefully I won't feel to deprived when I see him eating. (sure I'll be fine).

                  Terry, I have a confession to make. I ate watermelon this week. It was so good. And, I still lost weight. So it didn't effect me at all. You are doing the right thing by just continuing with your woe.

                    I could always go the hamburger w/no bun option and green beans/side salad. This could work.
