Re: bummed out :-(
How many inches have you lost?
You know, some people lose a lot in the first week and none the second. Some lose in the second but not the first. Some lose evenly in both. And we all know of someone (Betty the mod comes to mind) who didn't lose a POUND in the whole 2 weeks of induction! She's reached goal now......
This is not a race. It is a new way of eating and living and thinking about food. The scale is a silly, lying piece of metal. Your tape measure will tell you more about how you are doing. So will your level of energy and health!
So hang in there! Don't give up! WOuld you give up other things after only 2 weeks of trying?Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Re: bummed out :-(
Finelly beat me to the measuring tape lecture!
So I will second that................
Measure Measure Measure Measure Measure!
You will never know if you give up if Whooshie comes tonight and would have taken a few of those pounds away over night if you quit today.
Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.Last edited by Terry; July 9, 2005, 06:51 PM.

"Patience is a virtue", they say. (to which I have often responded "and a brick is a great weapon....shut UP!") But seriously, your body will lose the weight on this woe. You are not in charge or control of when it loses how much. Stick with this, and the inches will melt off.Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

Re: bummed out :-(
May I echo what everyone else is saying. Don't give up. I lost in spirts, weeks would go buy without a loss and then bang I lost 5 pound one week and 5 the next. This board likes to say, weight loss isn't linear. And Dr Atkins says that we should expect to lose 1-2 pounds a week, so you are really doing well.
I would give my eye teeth to lose 5 pounds. What are you doing for exercise? Are you drinking your water. Etc etc etc LOL

In case you havent read this yet here is a link to Moochiecat's 'Weightloss is not linear' thread
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5090
which makes for reassuring reading.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: bummed out :-(
Okay, let me put my two cents in. I lost six pounds my first week and nothing my second week. Then, nothing my third week. I was truly quitting when these unyielding people on the board here told me I couldn't quit just yet. Now, this morning, another pound lost! Out of the blue. Don't quit! Don't do it. Remember, you are determined to succeed!

Re: bummed out :-(
DON'T QUIT, DON'T QUIT, DON'T QUIT!!!! It has only need a week. You didn't put weight on overnight nor will you take it off overnight. Let at least a month go by so you can see all the inches you have lost - which is what is important.
