  • I'm trying again- sorry

    Well, it may take me a thousand times but I am still trying. I never got into ketosis so I am starting day 1 again today. - shame on me!!

    You all will be the first to know when I make it thru induction. God I feel lame-
    I am so sorry, you've all been soo supportive. - shame on me!!

    I do feel like I will win this battle someday. I just hope its soon! - shame on me!!!

    Mojo, you can do it. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that slips. It is so hard! I am on day 21 now, though, and I can tell you that the day will come. It is funny how when you are on day one, it seems like you could never go a week cheat free! You can, though! I see you already have. Welcome back to Atkins.

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

      The first week is always the hardest. You just need to commit to one week...get through the induction flu and get into ketosis. From there, it is smooth sailing, as your cravings will subside, your hunger will decrease, you will start feeling better, etc. Just commit to one week! You can do it!

        Don't fret Mojo. We all make slip ups. Just keep hanging in there and as Nikki suggested, start with small goals. This week I will______________ (drink my water, exercise, or stop eating _______________).

          One step at a time. You can do it. We have all been there. Heck thats why we are all here at STAC!

          Doesnt work for me but have you thought of backing into the program? I know this works for some.

          Hold on Mojo and post a lot. Come and let your buds here help you with your decision to a healthier smaller you!

            I hope you aren't really sorry to be trying again! It's the only way you will succeed!

            What is giving you the most trouble? Post about it and we'll see what brilliant <cough> ideas we can come up with!

              Hey Mojosrising: Your post sounded so sad....
              Think about how great you felt when you did it before and it was working! Sometimes, particularly these early days into it, I wander into the kitchen thinking about having just a little cookie, or just a bite of my husband's chocolate bar, but then I think of everyone here and just knowing we're all in the same boat makes me want to reach for water instead! Don't give up...you'll never regret sticking it out.

                OK I'm confused

                Did you say you're restarting Induction because you didn't get the strips to turn color? I never got them to change and I lost 70+ lbs.
                I think the whole "ketosis" this is overblown anyhoo.

                If you keep beating yourself up over this stuff it will never work.
                Just make good choices every day every meal and the weight will take care of itsself.

                  Surely you don't mean that the concept of ketosis, upon which the Atkins WOE is based, is overblown? Perhaps the ketostix, yes (I have personally never used one), but the issue of ketosis?

                    Ketostix definitely.
                    Ketosis....maybe.
                    If you are in Ketosis that's a good thing (if you're otherwise healthy)
                    If you are not in ketosis that's not a bad thing tho. You can lose weight without being in ketosis. I also think it's a transient state. You could be in ketosis for an hour. Then it's over. Therefore it's not very reliable.
                    I also have heard of people turning the stix color and not losing weight. That can happen too. The best indication that you're losing weight is to look at the scale.

                        If it takes a hundred tries to get back on the wagon, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you made it back. Toss thoes ketosis strips, they are worthless.
