  • My Motivation!!

    There are two things I LOVE about this board:

    1. Before and after photos - (i'm not there yet)
    2. The great ideas everyone has and shares.

    So, I thought I would share my way of keeping motivated. Here's what I did.

    First I made goals for myself.
    219 - new hair style
    199 - new living room furniture (mine has needed replaced for years)
    179 - DH is taking me on my first cruise

    Second I went to the website http://www.mvm.com/mvmhome/jsp/model_home.jsp?
    It's called My Virtual Model. It is so cool. You put in your height, weight, hair, eyes... and it creates a model of you. I saved the models at each of my weight goals and what my reward is. It is incredible to see how I will look 60 lbs smaller. I printed it out and put it ontop of the fridge (don't want everyone to see). I pull it down about once a day to keep me going. It is amazing how much the body on the models looks like mine. This has been so motivational for me that I thought I would share it.

    I am going to set little rewards for every 5 or 10 lbs after 219 like perfume, hubby fixes supper... (I have to admit that my DH is wonderful and very supportive in my venture.)

    I would love to see how everyone else keeps motivated. Please share!

    These are fantastic ideas. Thanks so much for sharing them!!!!!! The proper motivation means everything, and the incentives keep the motivation going!!!!

      I have stayed motivated this time around by:

      1. Checking in on this board as much as possible

      2. Discovering and enjoying a wonderful weight loss buddy!

      3. Looking back at a horrible picture of me (my wake up call)

      4. Looking at my son and knowing I want to be there for him

      5. Looking at my son and knowing that I want a 2nd child, but not at the weight I am.

          My Motivation is........

          1. Visiting my closet to see all the clothing that I want to wear again.
          2. Looking at FAT pics of myself. NEVER again!
          3. Looking in the mirror at the "NEW" me

              Today is Day #1 of Induction (again) for me... I'm doing ok though. I've made up in my mind that I must see that scale say "150" and I want to be slimmer as well.
